My First Gun

Hey, I've just created an MP5SD model, with fixed stock, and would like some critques on it. I used Lightwave [8] and it took me a couple of days. I could only get my hands on a side view of the gun, and I struggled because of it. (This is my first Gun, but only second overall model).

you shouldnt under any circumstances model from a side view if you do not have refs .. consult the forums as u can see in my sig im always there for u.
areas taht are inacurate are the handel the magazine the barrel the body and the stalk ....they all have inacuracies in them and i sugest u to lay of off the mesh smooth for low poly models ..while other go indepth into what needs to be redone ill get u ur refs kind sir.

i think that after eye balling those you will be able to see some of ur mistakes...you should remember that hte right side of the gun and the left are diff.

It's not too bad for a first model though, aside from the inaccuracies.

Heh, yes I knew it wouldn't be too accurate. I only had a side reference image, not a top or a front. To top it off, I haven't been able to get my hands on any really indepth info on Lightwave (Of course Amazon is slow...). I don't really mind having a bit of a high poly count because I plan to use the models for other purposes too , but I will take that into consideration because you recommened it. Thanks for all the tips MM! I'll try to make it a bit better.
