Hello all!
Just workin on my first real attempt at lowpoly modeling :)
This model is for HL2 (of course) still needs some optimizing in spots and still gotta add a little bit of stuff to his vest- pockets and what not.

>Polycount is currently at 4,538 tris.
>The face will be fully articulated.
>The eyes are currently place holders, still not sure how to go about them due to the fact that the eyes are created by the engine.
(if anybody has any solid info about this please let me know).

Critiques and comments welcomed!

Thanks!

That's pretty good, lotsa detail. Good work

Looks great, i'd scale up the size of the head a tad and i mean a tiny amount. Everything else looks in proportion.

Good work.

thats reall nice so far u put him in an odd pose tho.
the arms are bit skinny for his body and the pants dont seem right.
u shud rig him and correct his pose..
shud look really nice after texturing
can u show us some of ur high poly work?

Hmm the legs, well what happends there is called hyper extending
this happends when the knees lock with the legs straight.
depending on the the individual the size of the muscle mass in the thighs and calfs will produce this effect - thigh muscle push forward and the calf muscles push backward.

Clothing can also exsagerate this.

Hey mindless_moder!
Thanks for your comments!

I do agree that his arms look a bit thin in the profile view so
i beefed them up a tad. I do think they look ok in the front view though. also keep in mind he is wearing a padded vest so that might make them look a little odd to.

About the pose i do start off all my models in the classic "T-pose"
but then i bring them down to the sides.
I do this because down seems to be the most relaxed position,
with them up you would get contracting muscles in the upper back
and the traps would flex along with the chest stretching into the shoulders.

Thanks!
