Hey all, I recently finished IchI's really great tutorial and although I had a few ugly areas and messy spots, I think that my Baretta turned out ok, especially considering I had never used a 3D modeling program before doing the tutorials.
Well, now I'm trying to take what I've learned and apply it to a different gun. I'm working on a Desert Eagle, and I've hit an area that wasn't covered in the Baretta VTMs because it wasn't on the gun. Is there an easy-ish way to model the ridges on the left side of the slide or make one ridge and copy it? I remember someone else asked about this and a video tutorial was posted, but then taken down to save bandwidth. If anyone could send me a link to help or just make some suggestions, I'd appreciate it.
Oh, also, big hats off to IchI's teaching ability, I learned a lot and did something I had no interest in because I had no idea how. Now I'm going to move on and challenge myself. Thanks IchI.
I posted a screenshot of my finished/sloppy baretta. I really got lazy on the smooth groups, I was just excited to have finished a 3D model. I don't know how to render, sorry it's an ugly shot. Once I finish the Desert Eagle, I will post that and make sure that I take my time on the smooth groups.
