Buy their friend a beer, most likely. Pirates are hardly hardened criminals.

And to all the guys who say 'turn him in',. what exactly do you think is going to happen? I dont think any end user has ever been arrested for software piracy.. its the trafficers and the warez groups that get arrested. Its not worth it fiscally to prosecute end users.

In this arena we are guided by nothing but our own morals, and desire to see the industry prosper.

According to custom pc magazine Valve has banned 20,000 pirates. And rumor has it that Valve themselves released a warez copy to catch people out. This was claimed by hl2files.com

haha nicely put...as for what i did to my friend....frankly i dont think he cares at all...he pirated many other games and i dont think hell stop, and turning him in is pointless seeing how he is like 6''4 240lbs...so i think ill let it go ahhaha

Just go on his pc and change all the file names for most stuff. Delete his maps, and laugh and say ' shoulda bought it...'

Also convince him hes missing out on all the great online playable games available. Start a clan with your mates who bought it legally, and he'll be left out. Tell him hes missing out on a revolution

That would actually be a decent thing to do. Just go round to his house, and when he leaves the room, you open up the folder it's in, and rename the models to something similar, but just off. That'll teach him.
