My HL2 D.M. thread.

Hello, Nice to meet you everyone  here are my questions.

1.) How do I set my mouse sensitivity to 21? The max is 20 and 21 would be perfect. What is the console command to do this?

2.) Is there a command that starts the F.P.S counter automatically when I first turn on deathmatch?

3.) I know that there is a command that allows you to take full quality .jpeg images for the screenshot. What is the console command for that?

4.) This isn't HL2 realated but I'll ask it anyways: My 3D Mark 2005 score is about 4900+ my system is Athalon 64 3400 754 Clawhammer: BFG 6800GT @370: 1 Gig P.C. 3200: SATA Harddrive. is 4900 a little low for my specks? I'm using the 66.93 drivers by the way.

I'm counting down the days untill valve gives us new maps and new weapons, I am sooo excited I cant wait. I hope they give us some more guns as a surprise :E :E That would be GREAT. And lets not forget to keep on encouraging JonnyPhive for making us the Goldeneye map :D

Thanks and Hello & Goodbye.

1) I believe if you type in sensitivity 21 in the console that should do it.

2) type in fps_show 1 (can't remember) - or type in net_graph 3

3) can't remember the console command

4) ensure all drivers are upto date, ensure you have no crap loading on startup.

1) your either insane, or can only make really small wrist movements....

2) put cl_showfps 1 in your autoexec.cfg file in your steam/steamapps/yourname/half-life2 deathmatch/hl2mf/cfg directory. If you don't have one, make one.

3) put jpeg_quality 100 in the aforementioned autoexec.cfg file. Now hitting f5 will take high quality jpegs.

4) With specs like that, why worry?

lol...

how on earth would you use crossbow at long range with 21 sensetivity???.......unless you are using an engineers digitizing tablet with a resolution of 1000000x10000000 instead of a mouse.

Wow, how helpful  The only questions you actually answered were both wrong. :p

21 sensitivity is insane... And what could be the difference of 20 and 21? Do you percieve life in slowmotion or something? I would love to see you play in real life some time, heh.

I figured that some people were going to give me some flaze because of my prefrences, but that is how I like it. I don't understand how someone with a 3.5 mouse sensitivity can quickly do a 90 degree or 180 to see who is shootin at them.?? I have no trouble using the crossbow or the magnum or any other weapon for that matter. The Gravity Gun is awesome when you have high sensitivity. But anyways I need a mouse sensitivity of 21 or maybe even 22. I probabbly am going to need a higher d.p.i mouse but I can't find one that is more comfterable than the micorsoft that I am using. Thinking about the Diamod Razorback but I have not felt one and I am weary of buying from the net without feeling one.

I can tell the difference between 19 & 20. I can also tell the difference in 20 when the mouse filter is on or off. I love the sence of freedom you get with a high sensitivity. I like having my sidestrafe sprint match up with my mouse movements. And yes, when I link up with the ionosphere, EVERYTHING is in slow-mo. :smoking:

It really depends on your windows mouse settings, unless you're using -noforcemspd. Turn up windows sensitivity to see if anything happens.

just out of curiosity...how many centimeters (or inches) do you have to move your mouse to do a 360 spin? 21 just seems totally off, even if you like fast turns.

Nah, I don't feel like trying that. Thanks though, I think I will just try the console commands when I get home.

It only takes me about 1.75 or 2 inches to do a full 360, which is why I love it. I like to look at all possible directions that someone could comefrom really quickly.

really quickly.
*quoted for emphasis*

i checked on my computer and 2 inches is about right for 20.0 sensitivity... so i guess that means your mouse is running normally...

i tried playing on 20 though... it was nuts... if i tried to turn right id do a full spin and end up facing right the second time around. :rolling:

How do I make a autoexc.cfg file?

Open notepad.
Type in those commands as stated above.
Save the file as autoexec.cfg

Occasionally it will rename this as autoexec.cfg.txt - - - if this happens do the following:

If this is the case, first goto folder options (Tools - Folder Options - View -)

Untick "Hide Extensions For Known Filetypes"

Click Apply
Click Okay

Right click the autoexec.cfg.txt file

Left Click Rename
Type in autoexec.cfg (or remove .txt)

Done.

And no, migas, i'm not portuguese, I just felt like putting my name in spanish for some sort of reason.... :rolling:
I guess I just think teta bonita sounds better than (and less gay than) pretty titty.

Could someone please explain the numbers to me for net_graph 3?
Specifically, I realise that In: 8k/s is the d/l speed, but what's the number next to that? Eg: 18.2/s
Cheers
