Yeah but it looks sweet.......

Specially when payday comes and all those lovely Cold cathodes, light fans etc go in it, And i finalise the window design!

What i really need to find out is if ill need a gig of 400 mhz ram to run HL2 with everything up full. I think the GF FX card should be man enough for the job. Havent got a game at the mo that i cant run full speced. Just hope the same with HL2.

They say itll run on a low end system, have there been any demos of this though???

You'll only need 512MB RAM, but 1GB couldn't hurt

As for your graphics card, that's the worst part about your system. Hate to break it to you, but the FX5200/5600 cards are the worst of all the DX9 cards out today. You probably won't be able to run at full detail in DX9 mode, if DX9 mode will even be playable at all.

Not a massive problem, the card has done very well up until now...lol. Its still gonna piss on a GF4 or 3 card. The biggest system hogging game i have has to be BF 1942 or Unreal 2 and they both run at full spec with no probs at 1600X1200.

If the game is that good it would be worth upgrading to a top of the range GF Fx or ATI equiv, whats £300 for gaming heaven??? I have heard that the ATI cards out perform their counterpart GF Fx cards as well, but until now i have no complaints. We will have to wait and see me thinks?

Actually, it's been shown in benchmarks that the GF4 Ti series card outperforms the FX5600

But yeah, just wait and see.. nVidia seems to be gaining FPS with new driver releases

lol, nice joke.. but, next time, make sure you have bigger HDs than 74MB, must not hold much ;) ;)

They are two 74mb 10krpm Raptors working in both RAID 0 striping and RAID 1 mirroring at the same time using only two SATA harddrives... Thats also the best performance you can get at 148mb of data storage using SATA.

And that list is very serious. That is what I will be building for Halflife2. I've read all the roadmaps and that list will be available sometime around May 2004.

lol @ mb *kekekeke* ^_^

anyway... I "know" HL2 will run fine for me at 1152x864

xp2400+ @ 2.21GHz (1.7v)
1GB crucial ddr2100 (2,3,3,6,2) @ 294mhz ddr
abit kr7a 133r mobo
golden sample ti4200 (300/600)
santa cruz audio
lg flatron (100Hz native 1152x864)
a comfortable wheely chair and laminate flooring to go "weeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee" on

reason for still using kt266a mobo? no need to upgrade... every game runs good at 1152 with max settings...cant say fairer than that

LOL! Ya, thats what I meant to bad you can edit you posts here... (very annoying)
Wow, I thought you were being serious about 74MB after your second post.. lol, I was totally confused.. that was the whole intent of my post :)

I've got an 80MB harddrive... in my Amiga 1200.

Gonna swap it out for a 1GB when I get some time.

What are the top resolutions for HL2????

Does anyone know, was hoping it would be maximum of at least 1600 x 1200.

My rig is

P4C 2.4ghz
120bg hd
radeon 9600xt
antec 3700 with the 120mm fans
audigy 2 zs
1gb corsair xms 3200
1 cd burner lite on
1cd rom lite on

I am still working on my "going on" 3 year old Alienware.

Right now she is at (from an upgrade)

AMD Athlon XP 2400+
Asus A7N66-C mobo
512mb DDR PC-2100
60gig HD (free, courtesy of alienware)
40gig HD
Radeon 9600XT 128mb
some shitty audio card that came with the mobo, need to get a new one

I think I should be alright when HL2 comes out
