My internet Connection crashes with router+ Bittorrent

I've just bought myself a Netgear RP-614 Router and plugged it in and opened the ports for BT.. but after a time when i've downloaded from BT, My whole internet connection kind of crash and i have to reset the modem (D-link ADSL 0.5mbit).. But when i use bittorrent without my router it works out just fine without crashes or something like that (exccept for the bugs in windows)

Anyone that know what to do?? Its the same with Direct connect when im in Active mode but got all the settings right...

Pretty sure I read something about that on that BT experimental site, something about it doing that kind of thing with routers.. no idea what the page or url is now though sorry

I think you're getting too much connections and your router can't handle them and crashes eventually. It's a bit like a DDOS attack...

Just a guess...

Btw check www.dslreports.com and do a search on netgear and bittorrent perhaps it'll come up with something.

Oh and some useless info, I use bittorrent in combination with a Draytek 2600 and has never crashed.

That tutorail didnt help me a bit... it just told me somethings that i already know... But i dont want to slow down my Speed... my toplimit is 50Kbps which is slow to me, so i dont want to make it even crappier...

I have the same problem and as far as i've found there is NO solution. It's usually a problem with firmware drivers...
