My local EB won't have any copies of WoW until after Christmas?!

My little brother is asking for WoW for christmas but when I went to my local EB store they said that they were sold out and Blizzard had stopped production until after christmas because the demand on their servers was too high.

Has anyone else had this problem? It could be just a Canadian thing. Or is the clerk completely wrong like they often are and I should look harder to find a copy?

they're LYING!!! :E

I bought my copy last week at EB games at Yonge and steeles ..they had about 20 copies

I was out shopping last night and I never saw any copies of WoW either. Granted I never went into EB Games myself (I didn't go into the mall), but I thought it was pretty strange that it was gone.

But he might of gone to an EB games that had sold out :p... the one you went to had'nt sold out of them it seems.

Its all good news anyway for you americans...even if you have to wait to play WoW, at least its for a good reason. Big population is good.

Is it a monthly cost for WoW? If so, how much?

On monday I called almost every EBGames in montreal to find only one that had about 5 copies left. Althought I bought my copy, I went christmas shopping today and I did not see any copies of WoW in any store. I don't know from which town you come from, but it looks like there is also a WoW shortage in Montreal.

Eb Games is selling Warrior Within for 49.99 USD, Futureshop is selling Warrior Within for 49.99 CDN.
What a rip-off, I'll have to trade in some of my games.

You have to chance to survive. Make your time. Once you get WoW, you will never have a life

I am damn glad that i managed to pre-order my copy of european WOW :)

But i'm rather pissed off i missed the collectors edition :flame: they sold out in a matter of hours on the website...

the Mullinator lives in the same city as I do

I'll just hit an Amazon order when I hear a release date for Europe. I'll probably have it giftwrapped and messaged to myself, too, because I'm so lonely ;_;

hah! :E
serves u right for not believing in pre-orders :p

Well I went to a couple other EB stores as well as a future shop and a Best Buy and all were sold out, I guess I waited too long :p . Thankfully my brother said he was perfectly alright with me giving him an "IOU A WoW" card instead.

Thanks for the help though everyone. I would have pre-ordered but I wasn't expecting to get the game because of the monthly fee, but then when my brother said he wanted it and was willing to pay the monthly fee I was pretty surprised.

I might have gone out again today but a snow storm is kind of preventing that from happening. I'm guessing Stern is having the same problem? :p

Won't get here in time, plus I would have to pay a whole lot of extra shipping fees because it has to come from the US (I confirmed that myself).

if i read everything correctly, Stern tried 4 times before he actually got his copy of the game...that lucky bastid doesn't deserve the copy for not believing in pre-orders before :p

and yeah...i need to go to the bank but this snow storm has me shoveling snow instead :(

Ya I e-mailed EBgames about it a few months back and they said anything ordered would have to come from the US. Its really annoying. ;(
