In a game such as Deus Ex there were some scary parts like in one mission there was a TON of postings on the walls that said, "ICARUS HAS FOUND YOU!! ICARUS HAS FOUND YOU ICARUS HAS FOUND YOU!!!! ect..." Very creepy stuff

That part alone was scarier then all of Doom 3

Absinthe, you should've persisted, the rest of the game is freakin' fantastic! If you couldn't be bothered, you can download savegames for just after the race section has been completed.

SS2 made me jump a few times, but I didn't find it actually all that intimidating. It's still an amazing game though, and one that I can recommend to anyone.

As for Doom3, I never really found it very scary. It just seems so predictable and cliched, there's very little in there to be scared of. Also, I found the idea of trying to turn the original Doom plot a decent story a laughable idea.

Silent Hill managed to scare me, but that was a long time ago.
