Just found the time to finally mount the scope today. She's a beauty. Rock River Arms National Match 20" chrome-moly Hbar upper (non-chrome lined barrel for increased accuracy) with free float YHM (yankee hill machine) quad rail, Magpul XLT rail covers, Rock River National Match Lower with NM 2-stage trigger , trigger has reduced action Yellow Tavern Spring Kit to drop the trigger pull weight just a tad without affecting reliability, YHM 1/2" riser and 5" 1/2" riser rail extension, Mueller 4-16X50mm mil dot scope (fairly cheap glass but it's nice and I won't be depending on it with my life anyways), YHM Pictanny to swivel stud adapter for the Harris Bipod. The pics are crappy bc I had my camera on the wrong setting.

For those who don't know much about shooting anything contacting the barrel will vibrate and affect accuracy so the free float quad rail will make it slightly more accurate. Chrome lining the inside of the barrel will increase barrel life but will slightly decrease accuracy. My best guess is that this rifle will shoot about 3/4" groups at 100yds with XM193 and probably better with match grade ammo. If your in the market for an AR I strongly suggest Rock River Arms. You get the most for your money. Usually about the same price as a Bushmaster but a tad more accurate with a much much better stock trigger. You can also specify more like if you want it chrome lined or not.

Anyways I'm gonna go :sniper: it in the next week. I can't hardly wait!

How much was that scope?

I'm jealous of both you and my bro. Here's his http://photos11.flickr.com/17037707_d38eaeb825.jpg?v=0

I'm jealous of your Bro's Leupold CQB. I could really use it for my RRA M4. Nice glass but to much for me for a scope until I'm done with Dental School. My Meuller was only about $200. They have really low prices because they rely on word of mouth instead of large scale advertising which really cuts costs down. It has japanese made lenses. I'd say it's just as good as my Sightron SII 4-16X 40 which also has Japanese lenses but it was $350. They really are a great vaule for $200 but are by no means top notch like Leupold VXIII, Leupold Mark 4, Night Force, or many others. For someone on a budget they are great. http://www.muelleroptics.com/

There's a Short Recoil shaped hole in this thread.

I still don't get why hort recoil was banned, can someone explain.
En rakurai why be jelouse of your bro, can't you use his if he's not using it, or don't you two share.

He was at too high a frequency to resonate with the forums

Silly question, what is the difference between the ar15 and the m4?

And iwant Short Recoil back too, no matter what he did, no crime could ever be bad enough to warrent us losing him and his extremeness to the max.

OMG, this is like trying to ask csers in a surf map to explain how it works, you won't ever get an anwser. I thought you were better than that.

We can't allow him back.

His greatness would make the forums implode.

I don't really like that match rifles... :( I prefer the military looks.

An AR15 is just a civilian version of an M16. The difference between it and a M4 is a standard AR15 has a 20" heavy barrel (HBar, Govt, etc <--different barrel profiles). It also has longer handguards, a longer sight radius, a fixed stock, and a slighty larger buffer. My "M4" isn't really a true M4 just a civilian version. Different brands have different names. Mine is technically a RRA "Entry Tactical". M4's have a different profile shorter barrel, a collapseable stock, shorter handguards, shorter sight radius, and a shorter buffer. Real M4's have a 14.5" barrel. In the US the shortest a rifle's barrel can be for a civilian is 16". So either you get a M4 with a 14.5" barrel with a flash hider permantly attached to make it the required length, or you just get an M4 with a 16" that has a removeable FH. I opted for the 16" barrel because it has better ballistics and I like to have the option of switching between muzzle attachments. Basically an M4 is a lighter handier AR15, but it is not as accurate past certain distances.

You might be able to find a used one close to your range if your lucky. Go check out the equipment exchange at AR15.com. If you buy a gun online it must be shipped to a licensed dealer though. Here's a link to find a FFL (licensed dealer) in your area http://gunbroker.com/User/DealerNetwork.asp. You just type in your zip. They charge a transfer fee. The fee will vary depending on the dealer, but the fees are listed on that gunbroker link if you type in your zip. Generally it is cheaper to buy guns online but sometimes not for used stuff. I would try to stick to proven brands like Rock River Arms, Bushmaster, Armalite, Colt, and DPMS. Do not buy a Vulcan/Hesse. They have tempting prices but you'll have yourself a nice bolt action AR because it won't be reliable. DPMS is about the lowest price of the quality stuff. Then Bushmaster and RRA are the next. I think Olympic Arms is fairly cheap but I've heard they have QC problems but I don't know. I spent about $800 on my M4gery.

thanks, i'm also gonna be checking out a gun show this coming weekend, but the internet is so much fun

First person to get an MP7 and mod it like gordon's gets a cookie. You know technically it would be legal in the UK to own an MP7, aslong as you had blanks. because its gas powered.

lots of badgers, revenge killings, cause they caused the deaths of my rabbit's.. nah actually I changed my mind, id just want to hold it and run around pretending to shoot headcrabs :D.

Cool, i was just under the impression that the ar15 was a cut down version of the m16 but wasn't really sure as the m4 is a also a smaller, shorter version of the m16 as well.

I wasn't really paying attention when he did, but it seemed to have something to do with his constant claims that he was better than everyone else in the world ever. There was also a thread about why Short Recoil was bant... http://www.halflife2.net/forums/showthread.php?t=84916

Nice rifle, by the way, even if guns are BAD and EVIL. :E

No, he's a content writer. Can't you read? GOD!

He's not my real brother plus now he lives in Washington/Fort Lewis

Christ. I can understand the desire to own a pistol to protect yourself / your home, but why on earth do you 'need' a rifle? Unless of course you're in the army in which case playing with rifles is your job...
