No I didnt copy anything for this (though I like that picture), and heres the story behind this:

My math teacher was telling us how he and his wife biked across the country on a tandem this summer. I looked at the route he hightlighted on the map and saw that not only was it just across the country, but it was downhill all the way (Washington to Virginia).

I said to my buddies, "thats not impressive...biking around the world would be impressive..." so I sketched it out, Starting in washington, down to South America, riding one of those chunks of ice to Antartica...and so on. Then I began illustrating it. Thus this was born. Here's the updated version:

I know...Romans didnt really have a concept of the PAcific. It just seemed better there. Was Plato the atlantis guy?
