Ok it took me about 10+ hours to finish this. I am happy with it. With the first "finished" image, I sat back and looked at but I didn't feel anything towards it. I knew it was missing something, didn't seem full.

But low and behold with no sleep I managed to work out a finished piece. I do my best thinking when I don't sleep.

:sniper:

The story behind the image goes like this:

The blind man has spent his life following this chain that had been shackled to him. Along the way he found Love. He took Love's hand and continued to follow the chain. To his own weakness, the blind man eventually led the Love he had to Death, who awaited at the end of the chain. Now the man feels no purpose, no more chain to follow. The only thing he can do now is hold in arm and heart, the love he once had.

Ok now here was the, first thought, finished work--here

Now here is the tweaked and final (maybe) work--here

Now let me know what you think, what looks good/right and or what looks bad/wrong.

I'm so jittery right now.

For a second there, I thought you meant that you spent ten hours on these:

If you only look at the first half it gives that impression. Or maybe I'm just tired.

It seems the hard work paid off, since the second picture is definately better in my opinion. The shading is great.

In a bizare co-incidence, I happen to have also drawn the grim spectre of death today. Albeit a far worse one that I crapped out for a school deelie.

Heh, well I like it a lot.

I like the way Death is standing behind him with his hand sticking out of the light, holding the chains. The sycthe looks really good too.

Looks good, but I hate to crit things in a manner like this. But your lady looks like a dude... Her hair goes over her chin in such a way that it looks like a beard, and she looks like she has a five o clock shadow to me. Perhaps putting a little shadow behind the hair and putting more color into her chin will fix it up. Other than that, great work. Truly original peice! The chains looks great and the expression on the guys face is perfect!

Hey chu, that looks awesome. I love the lighting and all of the cloth with wrinkles in the picture. Keep it up.

The second one is definitely better, and I really like the style you used there. For some reason, it called to mind a couple pictures depicting the trials of Jesus (or something like that, I don't know much about religion). Anyway, nice job.
theres a famous sculpture (the name escapes me MAdonna or something) depicting Mary holding Jesus' body in a similiar fashion. On instead of screaming in rage, she crying.

Same here!

Ok here is a new updated version

-I gave the man longer hair and a fuller beard to give him a more aged look.

-I made the woman's neck shorter and added a darker shadow to her face. Plus I made the hair go under her jawline more so it didn't look so much like a beard.

-Changed the color of the blindfold covering the man's face.
