My older Bro just got back from Iraq

Er, Iraqi citizens live over the 3rd largest known oil reserves in the world. If they had a government that used these resources to the betterment of the people, the Iraqi population would be living much as the Saudis do now - extremely well, in other words. I know you're trying to make a different point with your post, but you need to pay a bit more attention to facts while you're at it. For the most part though I agreed with you.

Yea I agree, but that is kind of my point, I don't believe it is the will of the people to live like that. It was the will of their government, as in saddam with his bunch of palaces while so many people are starving. So you can't say the people you know, want it that way, it's how their dictator wanted it.

Good to see that your brother's home ok - there must've been a lot of times when your family would hear something on the news and fear the worst.

id like to see all these people go to iraq and go through some of the shit your brother did.........

they might change there minds a bit......

most of this is coming from kids who think video games represent real conflict in a realistic way.

I am so glad your brother came home safe and sound. I salute the soldiers who risk their lives to make the world a better place. Though I do not always agree with the commander-in-chief, one shall never forsake the common soldier.

PS: If his buddies find Saddam, give me just four seconds with him.

I hope the Iraqis take care of as many of the American and British troops as possible. And show them hospitality for the liberation.

Was your brother was shown special movies every night. Could you tell us what sort of things they showed over there? How did they boost morale?

I remember seeing soldiers sitting infront of a big screen watching some stuff about why they were there... and how they were giving freedom to the people. Was it like that with your brother?

No. Nothing like that. They had a speach that lasted about 20 min and that was it. To keep moral up they wathed movies on a lap top that someone sent to them. Someone sent water guns to a few guys so there was a few water fights.(at an average of 122 degrees water feels pretty good) Mainly they read a lot when they where of duty. Wich wasnt that often.
They had the Lizard mascot

A lot of soldiers are fed a lot of Bull about the reasons they went to war. Im glad your brother came back. Otherwise his death would have been on Bush's bloodied hands.

Some people had brothers, husbands and sons just like yours, who unfortunately did not come back. Soldiers died. From the UK and the US. And also thousands from the Iraqi army. They lived and breathed just like me and you, and had families and children too. Thats why i was against the war. It really wasnt worth it. As long as people were quiet SHussein wouldnt do anything.... u know there are many worse tyrants in the world, many of whom are still being aided by the Us and Uk. The double standards disgust me, and make me feel ashamed to be british....... Its about oil and pleasing the Zionists.....

Anyway, heres an article from yesterday here:
http://news.independent.co.uk/uk/politics/story.jsp?story=450117

Again im glad your brothers back........ lets hope he didn't have to kill anyone there.

"The families of British soldiers killed in Iraq have fiercely criticised Tony Blair's decision to attend a remembrance service for Britain's war dead.

One grieving relative - the father of the helicopter pilot Philip Green killed in a crash - said the Prime Minister should stay away from the service at St Paul's Cathedral on Friday.........

...................Mr Green admitted he felt highly emotional about Mr Blair's presence at the service. "I think he's a war criminal, it's as simple as that. The man, without any consideration to the Labour parliamentary party, elected to go to war with this scabby little friend in Texas [President Bush], and killed 51 of our men unnecessarily," he said. "If I have a chance to meet him on Friday, I will tell him to his face." "

BTW these posts are not meant to be FLAMES, just my views on the war. It is a liberation, but a new sort of oppression in the form of occupation is taking place there. Lets hope the country can be put back together and the troops leave asap.
