My problem

Hello all I'm new to the forums and I came here because I have a slight problem. I reserved the Half Life 2 Collectors Edition and I believe it comes on DVD. I relized I don't have a DVD readable drive and I was wondering if there might be an option to buy the collectors edition on CDs instead of a DVD. Thanks for your help.

You can use your CD key from the CE to use on Steam to re-download the content of the CE on DVD probably.. (minus the actual toys etc..)

I agree with what's been said so far, just buy a DVD drive and install it in your system, it's just a matter of the IDE and power cable and you're set, and remeber the jumper settings as well :thumbs:

Type in your CE CD-key for HL2 and you can download it via steam instead of using the disc to install. You'll still have the disc in the future when you will eventually get a DVD(hopefully)-RW

You seriously think that would work? I've been debeighting weather or not to just buy hl2 over Steam. But I don't know if the CE will be available on steam...if for say there is special little things that you'd have to have come in the box.
I think I might do that

If you're forking out £60-80 for the CE anyways, why don't you pay another £15 for a DVD-R?

I bought a DVD-R when i got FarCry, what's the big deal?

sorry yeah, downloading it all through steam should work, but with that extra stuff, i guess your waiting time will be a bit longer to d/l...your choice
