yeah, the guard looks like a golden sausage ( for use of a better word )...sorry, i just had to say that. yeah, the blades quite nice, a bit plain, maybe put some scratches on the edges. the handle basically needs revising. just add a bit more detail, some ridges in the grip, it'd look nice

looks alright. U should have aimed for something a bit more interesting though. Try doing a japanese sword. My dad collects them so if u need any concept art of japanese swords tell me, I can proberly get my dad to get them out for me without chopping me up Anyway if u did a japanese sword u could get a nice effect on the blade temper and also get the rapping on string around the grip. Maybe u could even do this on your sword at the moment. Some blades have a handle that has diagnel string rapped round it. It kinda looks like girls (maybe even guys) plats, except it has a openning in the middle. Sack it wait a minute its good time:

looks ok for a high poly sword. the 2nd one is defenately better than the first.
one thing i would change is the blood groove, I'd end it before the blade comes to a point (just personal preference).
if you want to use it as an ingame sword you'd have to cut back on the polys.
could we see a wireframe shot of it as well? or of your next model?
