All I know is enough is enough. We need info on the release not about headphone compatability, because frankly...who gives a sh*t. This Valve Silence™ has reached a ridiculous level, we are back to stage 1 again, "Is there a HL2?".

This wait seems much longer than the wait for 4+ years before any word of HL2. Because at the time no one cared, people lost interest. Then Valve opened up to the public and gave release of the -unawaited at the time- Half Life 2. They teased us, then quickly took it all away.

You will need a steam account with HL2 enabled to use it so unless they break steam encryption as well...

Single player version won't need STEAM, so that'll atleast be warezed

single player wont need steam to play _until_ you install a patch or upgrade, at that point on it will need steam. Atleast thats what appears to be the plan to begin with, but I've also heard rumors that after a few weeks from the first release steam might not be needed.. But I don't know much about that so I can't comment on that stuff :\

I also would bet you money you will need Steam for the install as a verification the FIRST time you play in addition to every time you patch. Which means you will at least need a Steam subscription the first month.
