i figured i'd send this too because it tells more about the storyline.
Chapter two History lesson
Before I get too far into my story I’d like to give you all a little background on my situation. I know it won’t sound very believable but this is what happened.
Well it started out with a slightly corrupt or stupid president (it depends on which mindset you have. Corrupt if you want the truth and stupid if you still believe he thought he was doing the right thing.) Him and of course the congress seemed to agree on what was best for the people. That’s the problem; the people don’t really get to choose what to do. Even though it’s called a democracy it really isn’t at all as I will soon show you.
In 2064 the United States started to become highly overpopulated. And there are quite a few reasons why this sudden population outburst occurred. After the boys came back from WWIII in 2060 the U.S. was in one of its highest points economically, scientifically and socially that it had ever been. What this did was put a lot of people in a good mood and the effect of that was an increase in the amount of babies in the following years. The medicine in this age was also more advanced; the average age at death had increased to close to 90 years old. Also the smaller things greatly affected it. Crime had dropped drastically, smoking had been outlawed (naturally tobacco turned into a huge underground crop, much like marijuana in your time.) And last, car safety at this time had almost completely stopped car accident related deaths. The police had started to strictly enforce the seatbelt laws. It had become a felony and if a child was found not wearing their seatbelt, one of the guardians of that child went to jail. If there was only one guardian then the children went into foster care for the time that the guardian was in jail. Cameras had also been planted on many main roads and along the highways and thruways. It seems very strict but it solved the seatbelt problem in just a few months. Anyway, getting back to my point, the population increased to about the population of china at your present day in only four years. Of course that human emotion that seems to always **** us over in our time of need took over the country. Panic.
At first they passed a quick law that said each couple could only have a single child for the next 20 years to balance out the population. Then when that didn’t seem to work they changed it to no babies for the next 20 years. Then the next 40 years, then came the protesting. Of course the American people would not accept these laws. They were against the constitution that had faithfully guided the country for hundreds of years. It was plain out communism. The people spoke and then when the leaders did not respond the speaking turned to violence, and when the violence turned into assassination attempts the government lashed back. At first they used protesting groups such as the PRP or peoples right protectors as scapegoats. They contorted the people’s views of the PRP and organizations like it using the media, which resulted in the “anti-American protesting” to become hated by most of the citizens that were too dumb to recognize the truth. The government did this so when they passed the next law the people would accept it.
The geniuses that led the country came up with what they called “the population outbreak cure,” which I thought at least sounded a lot like a birth control pill that was going to be mandatory. I was wrong; their idea of a cure was a vasectomy. Not only a vasectomy to a couple or many, but to the entire population. If this was not enough to start a revolution I may just tell you the details. By vasectomy I mean not only did they stop the flow, I mean they cut ‘em off. They cut off everything. For the women, they didn’t just “tie the tubes” they took em out. In case you were wondering that’s why I called them Kennys. It didn’t matter if they were men or women before; they were all flat as ken dolls down there now. I can’t say for sure but I think that they are pumped full of hormones like testosterone and adrenaline before they go out to fight us. It may have been the only way they could make the soldiers do what they do. I can also say for sure that they carry adrenaline packs with them for the field. I’ve killed a good number and they have a couple small packets of morphine, adrenaline and testosterone in their packs.
I sometimes think even now that they were just trying to provoke us. But then I think that they thought/knew that the population was brainwashed enough to go along with it. Of course not every body was just going to walk into the doctor’s office and get it done, so what they did was send the military or police to enforce this new law. These soldiers would take people away in the night and have them back the next morning in their bed. We could always tell when somebody had been kidnapped the night before because they were usually still doped up and didn’t remember a thing. They did this for only a few reasons that I can think of. Not only did it stop the creating of new babies, but it stopped more threats of violence on them and on the community. They called it the next revolution, but I don’t think they had any idea how much of a revolution it would be.
The testicles create testosterone which is pretty much the only reason that there are more male murderers than there are women killers. What they plagued across the media was the fact that crime would be cut almost in half or almost stopped completely. They didn’t know the future but neither did the people so the people believed everything they were told. The population, they were told would not lose generations like they would have with the other plans because instead of just not having babies, the population would be able to write the government and ask for one if their story was good enough and the government thought they should have one then they got one. The only thing is that what they didn’t tell the people was that the chances would be worse than the lottery and I sometimes think that it was all just another way they took advantage of the people’s gullibility. Surprisingly not as many people as I would have thought thought this was a bad idea. In fact it was only a small portion of the people that rebelled. And this is where I come in.
Don’t get me wrong, when I say a small portion I don’t mean just a couple people. In those days a small portion of the total population consisted of about 250,000,000 people. It started in the form of religious groups protesting how the plan was against god, but I think most people joined these groups because they didn’t want to lose their manhood. Hell, I’m an atheist and I joined em and I don’t think that I’m the only one that did for that reason. It had stopped being a democracy a long time ago. But it really shows when hundreds of thousands of people protest and ruin entire city roads and the government does nothing.
In the beginning the meetings took place in the church. They were peaceful meetings but there were a lot of disagreements. The worse part is that it was cut almost down the middle so no decisions could be made. The half I was in believed in a flat out rebellion. In my group which consisted of about 60 people at the local church it was thought that the only way to stop this unreasonable treatment was to; in a matter of speaking, create an organized crime group that was directed against the government. Of course when this was brought up in the church the other side that believed in a peaceful but stern approach to the situation (bullshit idea) immediately fought against it. The meeting ended with no resolution. The following day the church was burnt down. To this day I still don’t know who it was, but it happened and with it the rebellion was started. The day after the church burning the 60 in my group met in my brother’s basement.
