ok, i don't think this will go well at all, but this thread is a game similar to the acronym game.. what i'm proposing is that anyone who can, record a snipet of a song and post an mp3 here.. i'm talking about 5-10 secs worth. the person who correctly identifies the artist/composer and song title get's to post the next one (if you can't produce a new clip, don't play). preferably you should use a part of the song that's recognizable, but w/o lyrics so people don't just google it.

also, let's try to stay away from horendously obscure songs. in fact, if people don't get the song in 5 tries, we'll move on to a new one (i.e. if within the next five posts my song isn't identified correctly, then i reveal it's indentity, and someone else posts a new song snipet).

i'll start this ill-fated thread off with an easy one.. can you Name That TUNE???

lol, not only is that horribly, horribly wrong, but you didn't provide a new song, read the rules please :)

that's one guess

edit: lol i just realized that that could easily be sampled in the ghostface killah song, so new rule: samples don't count, you have to name the original song (sorry vanilla ice fans ;))

Your rules make no sense. You want people to guess and provide a new song at the same time? Why not let them guess, tell them if they're right, THEN they provide a new song?

I only say this because it's not the same as the acronym game, someone can make up a sentence with an acronym that's logical and provide a new one, simply because there's no "right answer," and in this game, there's one right answer.
 
I'd just like to add that if anyone does not currently have the software to make their own .mp3 files, I found a very easy-to-use one at:

Select your sound card and the source as 'What U Hear', then play your clip in Winamp or whatever while recording. Easy.

right, i was about to post such a correction. so
1) guess
2) song provider must OK it
3) winner produces new song.

but you need to be able to provide a new clip to play.

doesn't really matter that much, but don't make it too obscure. use your own judgement.
