Names of old DM maps...

Trying to remember the names of two old maps, who can help?

1. It had a train system that went all the way around the map and at some points you could crawl under the tracks. You used to be able to drive it by pressing the 'use' key and varying the speed (it would kill you if it you got in the way). It was a great Oz map because of the big open spaces it provided (use of the grapple hook). May have been called station? Anyone have a clue? The 'train' which was really just a platform with the controler, was yellow. It was a daytime map.

2. This was should be easier to describe. There were a few main open areas with windows that looked out and crossbows at the top in each room. There were move-able floors (like flat escalators) all over and if you timed it right you could grab a shotgun and nail people around corners. But the most important/easily remberable thing was the water sequence. When you got to one of the rooms at the top was a platform and a big green button. When you pressed it water rose from the room below and a cage covered all access (with the sole exception of a platform that would drive from the ground level to the top and you could battle atop the cage while the others suffocated below). It was possible to "spill" into the water zone by falling into the canal/sewage system elsewhere in the map. Another great grapple-hook/oz map. What do ya got?

Hope those descriptions were good... I'm thinking of re-mapping one of those maps as they were a lot of fun, but don't recall their original names.

And PS: where's VALVE's official map packs huh? 2 maps? Gimme a break... Great work to all those working on maps thus far (ones that come to mind are dm_crossfire_source (minus the lack of alarm, excellent map) and dm_facility looks to be coming along great (007 knockoff)

I liked all of the old HL DM maps, but I don't think they would be very good remakes in HL2... it's too different with the physics/new weapons/both.

Frenzy was quite fun, although also very frustrating at the same time - too easy to die when you spawned without a weapon, over and over and over and over...

Subtransit was quite fun, and I really enjoyed undertow. I worked out a great camping spot with the RPG where you could instantly kill anyone who came up on the elevator (timed it right) as well as move around frequently, so if anyone tried to shoot off a grenade at you (before dying to an RPG), they'd miss because you'd have moved. Excellent, loved it.

I always hated undertow. I think it was the inclusion of the gluon and the water trap. Never been a fan of stuff like the water trap or the nuke button in crossfire. Mostly I guess because you'd get some meathead in the map who spent the entire time setting off the bomb/trap, so instead of fighting other players, you spent a lot of time running for cover. They take an otherwise fun map and turn it into a camp-fest.

The upside is that the people who spent the most time pressing the nuke button in crossfire were the people who were easiest to kill... :-/
