However the special edition version will only be available until tonight![br]If you want to find out more about NS2, Charlie Cleveland will be interviewed on Podcast 17 this Saturday, live at around 2pm EDT / 7pm GMT, tune in or submit your questions! With many more releases to come! Dynamic infestation isn't in this one, for example.

Sweeeeet! I'll be back in Ponty tomorrow. Anyone UK-way up for a game?

Alpha has started. All I can say is, it's definitely an alpha.

OWWWW this and SC2 in the one day... it's too much

Haven't launched it because I don't really enjoy alpha testing that much.

It's actually like... work.

Servers are ddosing themselves at the moment. Wait until they patch it. If your comp sucks you might want to wait until the optimisation is in there too.

The good thing now is that every day or week we'll have new updates with things fixed/changed.

So can we expect a flood of gameplay footage, or do they have you all agree to a NDA?

There was no NDA that I know of. Problem is that the game at this point is barely functioning beyond just playing in a server by yourself.

Gorge bellyside ftw though. Lerks can hang from the ceiling too. Real cool shit and everyone should buy this game.

Well patch came out and I still cannot play it aside from LAN. Somebody did post these pics on the flamehaus forums though:

Must have missed the feature about an alien commander?
What a pointless feature.

There is an alien commander and there is a robot in the 5th pic that automatically constructs stuff. I don't know personally how that commander role will turn out. The Aliens did stuff on their own mainly through VOIP for the betterment of the hive which is basically the same as the Marines. So in theory it should work out.

This game looks nice. I'm definitely going to buy once it hits beta.
and yes I played NS1

haha I just spawned under the map and am now forever falling towards the background image :D

Going to be interviewing Charlie tomorrow from Unknown Worlds on Podcast17, if you guys have any questions you want me to ask post them below! Details in the OP. Tune in live or download the recording.

p.s. hectic glenn you have a soothing voice

Thank you. I have fathered over a dozen illegitimate children using this ability.

Well the show with Charlie was really interesting, if you couldn't tune in live (because we filled the entire shoutcast server) or missed it the episode is now available to stream / download from the podcast17 website - http://www.podcast17.com/episodes/94/

You can download the interview separately if you wish. Charlie discusses how the modding scene has changed since his NS1 days, what is going right, Valve's possible stance & his own engine - Spark. Including a walk-through of all the modding tools it provides, with insight from a coders perspective. The last 30 minutes or so of the interview is pure Natural Selection 2 discussion. Enjoy!

Thanks for the interview Glennzorz. Charlie sounds overworked... probably because he is.

I really loved the first game. Hoping they can re-capture the feel of the first

I'm afraid it'll turn too much into Quake Wars..

Huh? In what way? It still feels like NS.
