Natural Selection: Source?

Hi guys

Tried looking on there website but couldn't find any information. Is there any rumours that the creators are going to be making Natural Selection Mod for HL2?
 
I hope so. Gabe has always said it's quite easy to convert mods over. We might be seeing mods transfered over quicker than we think?
 
As far as i can make out from the forums and stuff, the guy at the top wants to make a new game, but most of the team want to port NS to a new engine, Source being an obvious choice.

Lets hope they mutiny!
 
I don't see why they can't do both.

However, I have to say that NS is probablly more suited for the DooM 3 engine, all things considered.
 
There has been an interview about this.
Basically saying that if the demand and audience is there, they will make it.
 
I really think next to counter-strike NS is played ALOT. And it seems like the NS Dev team are getting all professional with there software company name 'Unknown Worlds' etc etc. So yeah I guess the team over there see a future in what they are doing :D
 
I read some news post on there site saying they iwll port it if enough people like hl2 or something.

not really, as doom 3 engine seems to be slow paced (unless we see other wise) and NS is about speed (for aliens)
 
Doom 3 or Source would both make a great NS Engine.
 
I'd much rather see it go to HL2.. It's a HL game, and it should stay that way!

It would take alot less effort just to go to source, and i imagine thats where they'd be heading as a result of that.
 
Doom 3 the game took the engine and really didn't optimize it other than for what they needed, not for mod teams to mess around with..

You guys know about Quake IV? They modified the Doom3 engine to have a freaking war with dozens of smart AI running around, in cars, bombers, etc all in an outdoor environment..... Doom3 could never do that..

I know that NS will have a large chance of switching to HL2 due to the fact that most of them only know how to do stuff on VALVe technology (even though HL1 is based off id...), I wish they would wait until the Quake IV modified version of the DoomIII engine would come out.... Which means I wish NS would be a mod for QuakeIV and they could make the mod much larger in terms of scale, exactly how Flayra, the leader wants it...

Oh and Flayra wants NS to be a retail game I believe, not owned by VALVe, and he doesn't want to work on the port over to Source, just work on the new design of NS2 which is in the making.

The company Unknown Worlds and the dev team of NS are two seperate teams, in that Unknown Worlds is an actual game dev company... You must move to San Francisco or LA (wherever it is... one of those cities but I think San Fran) and you get paid at Unknown Worlds... Dev team for NS is of course free....

that all depends on how well converting ports work.
only Valve knows how well that goes.

i think an NS type game is more suited for the Doom3 engine but im sure it wouldn't look out of place using the Source engine.
 
I'd love to see NS:S.

Fades and Onos would be a lot more scary. Grenade Launchers and JPers too.

...They really need to do it.
 
It'll be good, because I remember they had trouble with the hl weapon limit... yes.. that means flamethrowers!
