This poor fella was playing WoW, as you do, when his neighbour let off a .44 Magnum, shooting through the wall, ricocheting off our WoW'ers gaming desk and missing him by a mere 3 inches. I mean, I know this guy was playing Alliance and all, but there's no need for that.

You never know where those commie bastards can pop up from!

ya and what better way to defeat communism than with twin Desert eagles?

The guy who's gun fired that round should go to jail for a long time imo.

no, that just looks like a retard with guns. All the US gun stereotypes are ridiculous, it's just politics that makes it look like it's still the wild-wild-west or something. Guns aren't really that common & most people keep them locked up or hidden . . . unless it's something like a pelet rifle.

the guy was/is in the military ..this isnt some random drunk with a gun

Reminds me of this thread.
Guy sees a few dog attacks "Lets ban dogs!"
Guy sees a few gun accidents "Lets ban guns!"

yes except we cant control animals

Of course we can. Make ownership of an animal for recreational purposes illegal. Make only animals for businesses and things like guide dogs legal. What? No one would ever allow it? No one is going to bring more gun control to Texas either.

Maybe he just wanted to see how "cool" he looks in the mirror.

I'd become paranoid of going anywhere near that wall again if that happened to me.

animals are stil considered by law as property ..so in that sense they can be banned

a dogs sole purpose isnt to kill ..guns on the other hand ....

...can be used as a means of defence or as a non-fatal form of attack. Plus they make you look cool :p

no, guns are designed to kill ..nothing more nothing less

Yah I get tired of hearing sterotype bullshit like that all the time!

lol, just saw this too

most people don't have guns in their bathroom... they might in other parts of the house but not usually in the bathroom :p

yet firearms cause more deaths in the US than any other country ..in fact no other first world nation comes close

The study used 1994 statistics supplied by the 36 countries. Of the 88,649 gun deaths reported by all the countries, the United States accounted for 45 percent, said Etienne Krug, a CDC researcher and co-author of the article.

Also, firearms are the sole reason for all gun-crime in the world. True story.

well I'm sure bullets have a part in that somehow :naughty:

What about target shooting for sport? Also what about hunting? Non Kitchen knives are meant to kill..should we get rid of them too just because they are made to kill?

Guns are here, it's too late to revoke them. Saying guns shouldn't be made because they kill is correct, however you can't take them away. That would never work and make things worse as criminals who already own illegal firearms aren't gonna hand em over. Your gonna disarm the law abiding citizens when in fact you should be arming them as the crime rate has shown to lower in that case. People don't wanna get shot so when theres a chance people around you also have guns your not gonna try to use it to have power over someone and rob them or do something else that might get you shot.

is there some special non-lethal gun that's used for target shooting?

I'm not 100% sure but hunting usually involves killing

not neccessarily ..knives are meant to cut

cutting

why do so many people say that if guns were banned that only criminals would have guns? ..where would they get them if they're banned? Canada?

also you're more likely to be killed by someone you know than a random person

Christ, thats crazy.
His sink is filthy too :p

And guns were designed to kill. Though they can be used for other purposes (target shooting, which is the only other use i can think of that doesn't involve killing).

wow, this so needs to be in politics :p The only mention of the game is in the OP/photos.

also, stern, what about archery? I shoot for my university and we shoot arrows that can kill (and you'd be suprised how many idiots try to walk close to our targets despite the 'DANGER: ARCHERY IN PROCESS' signs ¬¬). We do it as a competitive sport. Should we be not allowed bows because the arrows are meant to penetrate objects(the same can be said for bullets, whether targets or flesh)?

if you walked down the street with a bow and arrow in hand ..how long before you'd be arrested? in most countries bows come under the same regulations as rifles

Do you live in the US? Do you have family/friends here? Have you ever been involved in our culture? Have you ever gone to school here or socialized here? Or are you just going by what you read and hear!?! Or maybe you are just one of those people that likes to look for the downsides in US culture perhaps!?!

btw: no, yes, yes, yes, yes facts are facts, facts are facts

So you know everything that goes on in your country? :p

hahaha Stern your crazy.

I don't know a single person who owns a gun.

I'm canadian and I know of at least 2 who do ..both my cousins

i dont see how America and guns has anything to do with this thread. People kill eachother everywhere and play with guns everywhere, end of story. I mean, look at Africa. Children running around with AK 47's and being recruited into militias and shit. How can that not be worse? Anyways, just thought I'd mention a few things and don't want to fuel the fire of an argument cuz I'm done.

guns :sniper: guns :sniper: GUNS

Perhaps the epidemic has affected your family, but just like Americans being ignorant, fat, war hungry, etc etc.. It's just another stereotype. We have more gun deaths? Maybe look into why people think murder is an option in the US when they don't have that problem in Canada.. If someone wants to shoot someone else, gun availability isn't going to hold them back, but the culture around murder in the first place is the problem.

Outlaw guns? Yeah.. so only the criminals can have them.. Good idea. Just like everything else that gets outlawed.

CptStern said:

It depends on the sport, however most are actual rifles/bullets that are sold to people who dont use them for sport shooting. However the calliber is usually small so it isn't a 1 shot kill kind of lethal but it will still do damage.

CptStern said:

So you are against hunting then? Should we abolish hunting in all forms?

CptStern said:

What about swords? Yeah they cut but they aren't designed to cut tomatoes and onions now are they?

CptStern said:

Drugs are banned...how do criminals get their hands on it? Some of it is domestic product and some is foreign. All of it illegal

CptStern said:

So should we ban guns because of that? That is true across the board for all murders, not just gun murders so that fact is irrelevant.

I think we should genetically remove people's index fingers so they can no longer use guns.

You guys are getting off-topic with your hate for the United-States.
Guns don't kill people, people kill people.

If someone wants to shoot someone else, gun availability isn't going to hold them back
you see I hear that alot particularly from American gun advocates
and it just isnt true - people get angry and lose their temper all the time
where guns arent available the worst they will do is use their fists or a bat
where guns are available they will use that

If you are really murderously pissed which people become every day they will want to kill someone. If they have a gun they can do so. If they have not and only have access to a kitchen knife at most - the likelihood drops like a rock.
there is no such thing as a culture of murder in the US - it is just not acceptable to say that when it implies that people murdering others is regrettable but understandable!!! I would wager that while the US murder statistics make the US look like a warzone, the statisitics for violent assaults are way down compared to say European countries. That explains itself - I beleive the same levels of violence exist if you compare the EU and the US without much doubt. The difference is the body count...you will survive violence in Europe (and elsewhere - Russia, China, India, South America), you won't in the US

People kill people with guns. fact.
Anyone remember that episode of the Simpsons where Homer joins the gun club? Just shows that guns aren't useful for anything but killing people and opening cans.

EDIT: this isn't directed at American imparticular, but it's pretty much the only first world country that allows guns to be kept.
