Played the demo on my 360 week or two back. Didn't like it at all. Everything felt slow and clunky. And the drifting mode was horrible.
The graphics were horrible too. Texture seemed very bland and there was just blur everywhere with a bit of bloom.
The originals were amazing for their era, and even NFS: Underground (one) was a really good game. Now they've just gone to hell. I hated Underground 2.
Most Wanted is nice. I love it when I get a massive bounty. By massive i'm talking at a low of 500k, and ending at 1.5 million to 2.5 million. I've done a 2.6 million bounty. INSANE. Every turn your looking on the map, speed braking to make sure theres no spike trap ahead. I still can't believe how I lost them. I got them done to one car, then when in a tunnel I out menuvered the cop. I would go, then menuver between the divided lanes. He'd be on the other side, i'd stop turn around, go on his, etc.. eventually he didn't see me and I got to sit in the tunnel till I was awarded the bounty.
To think I almost had it at 700k, and was pissed when I didn't...only to be asking myself "How the hell did I Just do that".
I didn't much care for Most Wanted, and this game is like the bad elements of Most Wanted mixed with the bad elements of Midnight Club. The only neat thing was the car customization, but even that was pretty limited.
How they managed to make it look worse than Most Wanted, I have no idea. Ultimately this is a complete rehash of Underground 1&2. I certainly won't be wasting my money on it.
Is there no free roam element in this one? I certaianly don't get that feeling from the demo. That was the best part of Most Wanted, and the cops of course.
EA should fire their marketing and money-grubbing employees. Their games suck because they work too hard to merely generate proffit . . . . not fun, enjoyable, quality games.
Most Wanted was good, however i preferred the original style hot pursuit games. Am dl'ing this, although going on rens opinion, sounds like it could be shite.
I thought most wanted was awesome... i had hopes that this would be atleast more of the same awesome with new cars and a few new features/tracks(city)
I too am a fan of old school NFS and have been since i got given the origional pretty much around its release. didnt like underground really but i feel most wanted was a fair compamise of old and new.
It's a different team, but the same engine as Most Wanted. The demo doesn't show you anything of the actual game. Apparently it's a beta demo, pre-dating the demos that were release for consoles at the beginning of the month.
It's all a moot point, as I'm boycotting EA anyway. However, based on what I've seen so far, I wouldn't even pirate it.
Played the GTR2 demo, brilliant, but very much aimed at hardcore racing gamers. I used a 360 controller, and it faired very well, especially useful are the pressure sensitive triggers, as this game is so realistic if you try and put too much power down mid corner you're in the armco. To get the best out of it you'll need a steering wheel and pedals though.
Great game, but if your cup of tea is need for speed style games then it most likely won't be for you.
