Need For Speed Most Wanted Demo!!!!(pc)

After playing it some more i found it to be more fun. I set it to 640x480 resolution in order for it to not lose frames in certain areas. I figured out what "Overbright" does and its awesome.

Its fun but realized what i don't like about it. Those magic yellow roadblock arrows that block certain roads that are so common in street racing games. bogus.

Thats what I liked so much about Need for speed: Underground. You can take any path you choose. Good game but I'll wait untill I can get it for $20

If you have a good game PC you must download this. Its free! You can play the 3 tracks as much as you want.

those shouldn;t be there in the final version, they just had to limit the size of it for the demo, which is already huge, but i know what you mean

The stupid installer stops itself saying that I need Direct X 9.0c. Anyone else getting this error? And yes, I obvisously have the latest one. Also, the EULA is all blank, did I get an effed up demo?

Cops thing is ****ing awesome. Racing laps is ****ing boring.

I am definitely acquiring this game!
I got out of this

OH!!
o rly?

When I get this game I want to unlock lamborgini's, ferrari's, porshe's and cop cars! .. and mustangs and.. well everything.

It's really nice, I like the HDR.

It's strange though that sometimes when I launch a new race, the game is really choppy, even in the menus, as if a demanding process was running in the background (defragmentation, virus scan) and I have to change the resolution, then change it back and it's all ok. Funny.

EDIT: Can anyone post screenshots from the game on max settings? Because to me it seems that it looks better when the detail bar is at 3/4, then when it is full and I max out everything in the advanced tab. It seems some textures look better with a blur and the shadows, when not blurred, are blockish. Or is it just some anomaly? My screenies:

3/4 detail bar (no changes in advanced):

full detail bar (advanced maxed out):

When I set full detail in basic (no changes in advanced) I get around 30-40fps, pretty decent, when I max everything in advanced I drop to 15-20fps though. Still it's damn pretty.

Edit: How did you get to 200? I never got above 140 :(

Thats Kilometers per hour lol

i had the viper up to 190mph i dont think it will go any faster

dont feel bad i have to run 640x480 with everything low or off except Overbright. it runs like 40-60+ fps. I like my games to run smooth.

I'm definately buying this game. I'm a little pissed though that there is a Black Edition with more cars and tracks, an edition that I doubt will be available for PC DVD in Europe.

Why am I getting these strange shadows then when I turn them all the way up? I've got a Radeon 9600 (PS 2.0). Is it because of the pixelshader model? Do you have PS 3.0 staticprimer?

Nope, I have an X800XL so no PS 3.0. In fact, I have shadows set to minimum, which gave me an extra 10 frames consistantly. Its hardly noticable too.

That explains it. I play with shadows on medium, because of their blockishness on high. I'm not sure if they should look like that on high, though.

I hear you need PS3 to run some things on high. Not sure but I remember seeing something on that. Ill grab a screen on high.

even though my card won't show all the pretty graphics i still love this game, the AI is a LOT better than the other need for speed games!!!

(when does this come out?)

Wow, this is actually a REALLY fun game, it feels really open and the cops are actually smart

I love the way they introduce cops into the toll booth run - the freeze frame and zoom in - so exhilirating! The radio chatter adds a whole lot too. "We have reports of a reckless driver on highway 9" <-me

This game not only plays great it looks good too! This is all settiing maxed at 1600x1200. This is with PS3 so if you are having shadow problems compare you screenshots to this one to see if your shadows are correct. I have always liked the NFS series and this one is looks like it will carry on the tradition.

edit: fixed some screens (some might be smaller to save on filesize).

Man those pictures all look pretty sweet. I dl'ed the demo, but every time i try to install it, it tells me to install directx 9.0c, which is installed. And which i have re-installed and it still won't let me install the demo.

:(

I wish they would have included the batmobile from Batman Begins and a special Gotham map (Dark and rainy) in this game. I can just imagine driving a tank against all the cops.

Times like that I really wish they would have included an SDK with a game like this.

:(

1) Extract the demo to whatever folder

2) Go to the folder you extracted it to

3) Extract the file 0compressed to the same folder that it is in. If you are using winrar just right click and hit extract here.

4) Run the game (speed demo.exe)

I had the same problem. You dont have to install the game just extract 0compressed and it is done.

Thanks very much mate, you're a star

:)

I'll try that when i get home.

gahhhh ffs! just downloaded the demo in college, but there not enough space on the only cd i have.

damn you hl2 hi-res pack!!

hey it worked!!!

Hey, you do know screenshots are usually taken with the "prntscreen" key or some application, not with a digital camera? It's much quicker and easier this way

Forgot about that key thanks.

I'm still upset that the cops aren't smart...they are just quick. Infact the AI is very simple, it's just that these cops have some uncanny reflexes. I'm also upset about how the game places car in your path. In NFSU cars would swerve over a double yellow line just to make me swerve.
