Need Help Cant Play Games!!!!!!

Everytime i try to play steam game a message pops up saying hl2.exe has encountered a problem and needs to close. sorry for the inconvieniece. this occurs with every game i have and occurs with source sdk. I am really pissed off cause it has taken me forever to download these games. i have already reinstalled steam and the games and it still does not work so if you have any suggestions please help me.

Try right clicking on "Half-Life 2 Deathmatch" (from the games list), hit "Properties", then click on "Set Launch options..." and type in "-32bit" WITHOUT the quotes. Hit ok, and try launching Half-Life 2 Deathmatch. If that doesn't work, let me know.

i tried that and the same error message popped up
i typed in -32bit just like you said without ''

I also have this problem. I have been playing CS:S for a long time and today was the first time it happened. Could it be because i am running a program like fences in the background? Please help.
