Hi,
I've got $324.13 (exactly) and I'm going to buy a geforce 6800 regular. I need help deciding on which brand to get. Mainly, I want the one that will run the coolest (I dont care about noise).
http://www.newegg.com/app/ViewProduct.asp?submit=property&DEPA=1
I can go up to the $285 eVGA. I'm thinking about going with the Leadtek, mainly cause it's only $270 and has 5 stars from voters, and runs pretty cool.

Which one do you all think I should go with?

Leadtek are good because they slap a huge heatsink onto thier cards. however that just so they can add slower spinning fans to reduce the noise. Don't expect better cooling performance.

BFG tech has amazing support and is a fairly quiet card Mine has blue leds too! its teh purty!
But anyway BOT Leadtek's support is horrendous and my fx5900 overheated hourly, I had to buy a slot fan just to keep the bugger warm :frown:

BFG would probably be the best bit overall, I have heard nothing but good about them.

I guess you meant keep it cold!
Anyways BFG or XFX, XFX usually make cards that overclock the best, and BFG have good support, like someone said.
Personally when I upgrade and probably get the 6800GT it will be by XFX, I've heard nothing but good things about that company, and thats good enough for me.

I think I'm going with the leadtek, mainly cause the BFG one is expensive. I need an extra $30 to last me for gas until next week.

Overall it is still a nvidia chipset, and different brands are still all very close to each other in performance, nothing noticable unless manufactured overclocked. I often get the cheapest card most of the time, usually if not the cheapest the next 2 dollar near.

dunno about the 6800 regular, but gigabyte's heatsink on the gt is friggin huge, and looks cool too. Cooling is pretty dam good too

BFG is defenetly the best choice i have a bfg 6800 ultra and it is so quiet and very fast simply the best for the 6800

Leadtek is a good choice, I really like mine and it stays pretty cool.

I've only use the XFX series cards and have always been please with looks and performance.

BFG. i have it, softmodded fully, 400/900, its beyond awesome. BFG uses 1.6ns memory on their 6800's instead of 2.0ns, l33t!

its only $270...

You could try to find a cheap 6800gt, sometimes people sell them at around 350 dollars.

you sure you're not talking about those asus "gt" cards that are actually regular 6800s, confusing everyone.
