Need help deciding on a car, mine just broke down.

Sorry for the off topic, but you got to be shitting me - most cars over there are 3-4litres?

Jeeeeeesus

He is, we have the ls7 which is 6.0 or 7.0L then the ls6 which is about 5.0 or 6.0L. Just depends on the car, american cars have more displacement than most imports.

We like cars that go fast without turbos.

LoL, you better tell the mustang crew to stop turbo'ing their v8's then. Infact most Stang/Maro owners have ditched superchargers and nos for turbo because it is producing better results.

Meh...superchargers are better on v8's....=). And to be honest, I can't stand the sound of a 4 cylinder with catback exhausts....ewww

And American cars have more displacement than any other cars =).

One day you yanks are going to have to realise the amount of polution a big car makes, there are millions and millions of cars and humans.

natures buffers can only take a certain amount, while this would almost seem infinite to a single human the huge amount of human activity is taking its toll.

Do you need a v8?, while i agree it makes an interesting noise and goes fast, a 6 litre v8 produces like 4 times the polution of a 1.3 lite car.

A 1.3 litre car is plenty fast enough for a road car, you do not need to do any more than the ton.

Nope turbo's have proved to be better, I mean look at what they used on NHRA cars, turbos...The only 4 cylinders than are annoying are sohc with exhaust, the dohc motors usually sound fine.

Please don't stereotype, not all americans are like that.

yeah, what about audi, mercedes benz, ferrari, laborghinia, pagani...etc...they all make a v10 or higher (except audi, the've got a v8).

I'll be the first to admit, I hate SUV's. They're pointless and suck gas like nothing else.

You appear to have little or no idea of what you're talking about. Allow me to point you in the right direction.

The vast majority of Co2 emissions into the atmosphere are natural. Oh, lets not forget that plants and trees thrive on higher levels of Co2. Lets also not forget that historically rises in planetary temperature precede rises in atmospheric Co2 levels by several hundreds of years.

Lets also not forget that buildings create more pollution than vehicles. And that modern vehicles are massively cleaner than their historical counterparts.

Lets also not forget that its rather silly of environmentalists to presume that from a mere 50 years of observation they can predict the future natural cycles of this planet. 200 years ago, Londoners were skating on the Thames, which was frozen over. That in Roman times, grapes were being cultivated for wine production in Scotland.

Cars are an insignificant contribution to global warming, if indeed it even exists as foretold by the environmental lobbyists. The Kyoto protocols make about as much difference to future temperatures as a Gnat's chuff farting makes to the smell of my garden.

is that a TVR? That kicks ass.

EDIT: Wait...I thought you had an Audi TT parrot...

mmm....TVR - when you absolutely, positively have to wrap yourself around a tree at high speed :)

Great cars, though. I was dead set on a Cerbera for a while, until I discovered the Aston Martin DB9...

I did have a TT, for about 4 months which was the time it took for me to realise how boring it was to own and drive.

So I bought an 11 year old TVR Chimaera, which sounds orgasmic, goes like stink, feels great with the roof down (which is all the time), is gorgeous to sit in (leather, wood, aluminium), and which draws admiring glances from everyone.

Believe it or not, I actually drive more slowly in this than in any other car, because I'm well aware that if I get it wrong, I'll be going through a hedge backwards. Its why I'm taking my IAM course, and also a ridedrive course soon.

ha! he said a corrado, rock on! I love volkswagens. You need any help with it ill be glad to help, i drive a mkII Montana Green GTi myself. i'd still get a motorcycle.. if your a good driver you won't get overun by some fancy ass buiness man with his cellphone.
though if he comes at you, you got a motorcycle and are pretty damn manouverable, and you can accelerate like hell and get the **** out of there :P

but i kinda agree.. if you don't have like 6 persons in your car whats the use of a v8 or v6.. my dad has a 1.8L 4 cyl Fiat Punto and it goes over 200kmph. v6 and v8 can reach little faster but just use way more gas.

so help the enviroment. get a 4cyl :P

Id' probably go with a BMW 645 cabriolet. But that's just me, might not be to your liking.

but the UK version right? it's made in europe? I'm a bit confused ..Ford owns Opel right? does the focus have an Opel engine? (I ask cuz a cousin of mine (spain) says his Focus is a performance car ..which in north america isnt the case)

Yep, UK version.

Ford is Ford in Europe. GM use the Vauxhall and Opel brands in Europe.

There is a performance Focus model - the Focus RS. No idea on it's actual performance though.
Personally, I need something to fit the family in (until I get my DB9)

ya there's no focus RS here ..funny how the european mindset is the exact opposite of north americans ..here's it's typical for people (even single people) to buy the biggest car/suv possible (really pisses me off to see some gas guzzeling monstrosity with a single passenger ..I mean why get a passenger vehicle if your not going to carry passengers?) Most europeans have a small car for every day travel and a bigger car for the weekends which I find commendable (at least in my limited exposure of europeans)

Pre-2004 Honda S2000. 2.0L. 240HP. NA. Let's see an american junker do that. ;)

Catback on S2000 =

I need to supercharge my mom's Civic. Dam that thing's slow (2000 4 door SE version).

Hey then it can accelerate up a hill!

There's a dealership 30 miles from me with three Eagle Talon TSI AWD's for $6k each, and all of them have around 65k miles. Going to look into those.

Ha, if you don't have much money don't waste your time, they are always breaking, even when you don't even mod them.

I had a feeling you'd say something bad about them. You honda noob.

Anyway, I'm just getting my cressida fixed, going to keep driving that. My mom and stepdad agreed to pya for it as long as I pay them back. I'm keepin my supra in the garage though. Havent mentioned that I have that becuase it's my baby and I don't wanna put miles on it.

Honda noob I think not, I've been around them for about 5-6 years. I know how they work, how they usually break etc. Drove my friends 300fwhp laser it was definantly quick, but the lag on the turbo was awful, didn't reach 10psi in the 16g till about 3500rpms, thats just horrible. Another friend had a talon tsi awd, I got to drive that around a few times, it was decently quick he just needed to get the damn thing tuned, never did sold it(just recently helped him swap a b16a into his ef hatchback he just bought), then my friends evo8, nice 400+awhp I love it, have yet to drive it, but that thing hauls ass, definantly a 11 sec evo with some c16 and 28psi.

Don't worry I know things about DSM's and Honda's; noob I am not. :E :)

I got a ****ing speeding ticket tonight  97 in a 60, it was so retarded it wasn't funny, there goes another 3 points off my license ;(

I always stood by my old Saab. Gas-efficient, sporty, loved the handling, always a few around that could be picked up for a song, and able to survive a direct hit by a tank shell.
Although it's probably not exactly what you happen to be looking for.

I do have to respect Subaru, but not that one specifically. :D

You're talking KM/H right? 97 in a 60 in mph would get you a lot more than 3 points.

Yeah Stern...a Forrester? C'mon.
