Need help from the Europeans, how much is Absinthe

If you live in Europe and have ever drank Absinthe I need a little help. How much does genuine Absinthe cost over there as we can't buy it in the US?

Is that just the multi flavoured stuff? I think it's just got the name Absinthe though, it's not like the real lethal stuff.

Absinthe is evil stuff. Went down to the pub, saw it being sold, and thought - 'right, let's give that a shot'.

It was a mistake. Tastes like aniseed (nice) and a public toilet (not nice). But more of a public toilet than aniseed. It hits you like a steam-train, and it really does mess with your head.

Don't try over-proof rum, either.

The classic properties of wormwood in absinthe, did you know that vermouth also contains wormwood, the word vermouth actually comes from that fact.
I have only ever smelt absinthe on a few occasions, never drank it.......

Yeah, I'm not sure if you can get the real, wormwood hallucinogen stuff in the US.

But if you do want it, go for lafee. 100% wormwood spinny-ness, 68% and it also louches properly with water

Sis and her fiancee bought it in Spain, 70%.
Had one shot on quite a few days, gives a little buzz to the day. Never had more than 2 shots, just couldnt bear it. :x

lafee absinthe is the 'real' stuff, yes it is illegal for them to sell it in most countries (including their own, france) but for some strange reason it's not banned in the UK. Which is nice.

You can probably import it off the site, too.

And you can get it in the united kingdom! .........i think it was allowed here a decade ago or something (i could be completely wrong but nvm)
Stuff in US e.t.c will be non wormwood but will taste exactly the same due to wormwood flavouring added.

Wormwood flavouring doesnt give the real wormwood effect, if you know what I mean. You guys can still buy the *real* stuff and get it imported though (well, the site does state currencies in USD$ too, it would be silly if they did that if it was banned in the US of A).

On the subject of flavouring, you can buy sachets of absinthe powder in which you add to flavourless spirit (vodka e.t.c)
Now this has wormood in it so it prob wont be allowed in US, but its certainly a lot cheaper, most absinthe is around £20-40 a bottle or so........with this stuff you can make it for a few quid more than the vodka costs.

I had a mate who brought some 80% stuff back from Austria (no idea what).
Drank a couple of glasses, but it wasnt' that bad.

Try drinking Chinese white rice wine (baijiu). Lethal.

what a coincedence...I just bought a bottle of absinthe last night! It's the real stuff too with wormwood - I bought it from www.absinth.com
The stuff on there is a bit pricy, I bought the .75 litre of absinth and can't wait to get rocked from it.

I cant stand the smell or taste of Aniseed so i dont drink absinthe of pernod. Still, i have had absinthe when i was pissed and couldnt taste it once, and yeah... it does sorta hit you I dont recommend it, it's reckless.
