Need help getting back into HL2

Hi all,
I originally bought HL2 when it first came out and absolutly loved the game as well as CounterStrike which came along with it. Unfortunately, I had some personal problems that required a big move which kept me away from the game after reaching the episode where your in the little rubber boat and just get past the wooden shack...sorry I don't remember the name of the chapter!
I finally have been able to get a new system and re-installed the entire game, but my saved game files, which I had transferred to CD-RW got lost along with another box of computer files during my move! I'd love to finish the game and get into the newer episodes but I don't want to need to start all the way from the beginning again.
Does anyone know a way, a hack, that would allow me to start playing from at least close to where I had been? If not, could someone send me a copy of a saved game file that I could use to get there?
I would greatly appreaciate ANY help with this situation! Thanx in advance!

The levels called Water Hazard, and if you want to start there, just load the first map manually (type it in the console).

Do this:

Turn on the console in the options menu (Options... Keyboard... Advanced)

Bring up the console by hitting the tilde key (~, upper left next to the 1). Type in sv_cheats 1 and enter, then map d1_canals_end. I think that's about the right place.
