Need help in half life 2 graphics

hello when i play in half life 2 the graphics work but prowblem is when i play

the graphics freezes and then works properly its like the graphics is freezing

i have good requirements 3.4ghz 1.5mb ram 80gb hardisk and got enough and my system is windows Xp pentium 4 and

service pack 3 version 2002 dell its old pc but its enough requirements but i really need to play it just purchased it :(.

The graphics goes really bad like too slow to turn

around please comment and tell me whats the prowblem 4 me do i need

update graphics

Do you have a graphics card? If so, update the drivers for it. If you're using integrate graphics or something then you're not in a good position.
 
You forgot one thing is... A video card. I meant ATI or Nvidia.

Maybe validate the game files? It does sound like a video card issue. Do tell.

Yeah that's not gonna work. You're going to need some kind of video card other than that. At this point you could probably spend $50and get one that could effectively run HL2 decently.

Just make sure you have the proper slot for it to in to. I don't know if I'd be going out on a limb saying you might need to get an AGP or standard PCI card, but if you don't have a PCI express slot on your motherboard then that'll be the situation.

It will be harder to find a card these days for that. I don't know if you're ona laptop or anything either, in which case it will be even harder.
