Need Help setting up server

Okay, i downloaded the HL2Mp files using the hldsupdatetool..it was about a 600mb download. i'm running a windows dedicated server.

here's what i need help with..

1. The map rotation won't work.. and yes there is a mapcycle.txt and a maplist.txt, both containing the 2 supplied maps. when the map finished, it was just stick in the player page

2. where do i change/add all the config variable, ie. gametype, fraglimit. etc

3. can hl2mp load a server.cfg automatically, without loading it in the rcon.

I really need help with this.. my first attempts have failed, lol.

if you have dedicates server there shouldn't be any diffeculties
you can adjust your map cycle theire and al other aspects (frag lim. time lim. ect ect ect)

yea, it's a dedicated server.

but i need to know what files to edit and where to they go.

Hey I understand what you are trying to do.... And info on how to streamline your dedicated server for HL2DM is very hard to find... CSS galore...

Good luck.

My only advice is to create your own server.cfg file. Find a base one or build from scratch.

Edit....

in the console of the dedicated server, mp_timelimit ##
where ##is time in minutes untill next map in the map cycle runs.

That helps. Thanks Prophet... One other question. I have no cfg folder... so if I go to ban someone it says this.

Writing cfg/banned_ip.cfg.
Couldn't open cfg/banned_ip.cfg

So where should I create this folder? Because I guess this is also where the server.cfg needs to be.

how come in some servers, you cant pick up more ammo by going over that weapon

Well if its set to weapons stay.... you can only pick it up once. If they are set to respawn, you can pick em up as much as you like.
