Well, I've got a new computer, and there are 2 problems with it:

#1. The CPU fan is EXTREMELY loud.

#2. Several installation prgrams won't function correctly. Especially driver installers. There's always an error midway into the installation. I've tried updating windows installer, but the problem persists.

Any help? Thanks in advance.

Well, I was hoping that I wouldn't have to take such drastic measures. It isn't exactly my computer.

But it's only loud when I'm running applications that use the CPU extensively.

Well it sounds like it's functioning how it should then...

The fan is working normally. The CPU heats up enough when working installing programs, the fan kicks on to cool itself. So no issue there. A new fan will probably quiet it down, as the one on there is probably cheap, but does the job.

Are there any other Windows Updates you can apply right now?

you can buy a fan regulator for some heatsink fans....i recently bought a heatsink+fan and it came with one, very easy to install, although i keep it on the inside of the case, the fan isnt that loud....however my PSU is pretty loud. Is there a way to reduce PSU fan speed in bios?

Well, it's so loud that I am unable to here the gameplay sounds.

Oh well. I suppose.

Well yeah, but I'm not with the computer currently, so I'll have to get back on that.

funny, most ppl want 2 remove/fix problms, not instal them or get help 2 instal them.

....

lol :D

Is there a wire interfering with the spinning of the fan blades? That can make an ungodly amount of noise.

I think as a general rule of thumb, that if something is making a loud or unexpected noise, I'd replace it asap. You don't want to have your hair turn gray when you realize your CPU fan has stopped working.

As for windows, windows is like a fine sports car - no two sports cars drive alike. You can never get an installation of windows to act like a previous installation. I'd reformat/reinstall.
