Need help with settings...

I recently set my res to 1600x1200 my LCD doesn't support that so when I load CSS now my screen goes black and I get an out of range error. Does anyone know how I can change my res settings thru notepad? Thanks.

I had this problem a while ago, and it took me forever to figure it out cause it seemed like it didn't happen to anyone else. The only thing that worked is; you have to go to the play games menu in steam, right click on counter-strike source, click the Launch Options button, then type -width 640 -height 480. Or whatever resolution you want it to be, that your moniter supports.
