Hey guys.

I've been working on a new site for my CS clan and I have the layout more or less complete.

Here's what it looks like at the moment:

The real problem I'm having is with the colors. Everyone I've shown has told me (and I agree) that is it too blue. However, I am having difficulty solving this problem. I have tried adding colors like gray and green, but none of the results looked very good. It was suggested that adding a color like red or orange might look good, but I don't want too much of either and if I only add a little it would still be too blue. I know that what I need to do is change a few of the main blue areas to a different color, but I can't figure out which parts and what color(s) to add.

Any ideas would be greatly appreciated. Of course you could give me suggestions for the layout as well. Thanks for the help!

looks fine to me, you might wanna de-saturate that blue a bit so it doesn't clash with any other colour from screenies, banners etc.

A contrasting colour u might wanna try with that blue (in smaller quantities) is something like #E6C89B - could be used to tint photos.

agreed on the blue, desaturating it would make quite a nice difference.

Once desaturated a bit it becomes neutral. Always use neutral colours in main site layout, and let the images add colour kinda LIKE THIS. I'm not saying use these exact colours, just try and get a contrast - dark and light, neutral and colour blah blah etc.

A lot of designer sites use a base colour of grey so your focus is on the content, not the site design itself.
