I have the MX510 and it's very comfortable and responsive. As for keyboards, I have a Microsoft Digital Media Pro and it's been great so far.

I love my MX518. It's a massive step up to my skipping low-rent optical I had before and it's not too expensive. As for keyboards...I have some generic Memorex one and it's fine for me.

I have the G15 keyboard and MX1000 mouse. I have always loved logitech for their quality and usefulness.

I've got an MX1000, had it well over a year and haven't got a bad word to say about it... it's just perfect. Still going strong, battery life still well over a week off a single charge (most rechargable devices have batteries that go shambolic after a few weeks of use).

Logitech have a new range out though, i'd say get the latest version of the performance cordless lasermouse.

Looks like this mouse is the one you want :D Two scrollwheels? The possibilities are endless!

I have looked at that. Not only do you have nice wheels but they're supposed to keep spinning for a few seconds if you flick them. You can fly though document and pages like crazy! If my MX1000 ever dies for some reason, I'm not sure if I would get this one or one of the "gaming" ones.

Just don't get anything wireless

Trust me.
Why? Wireless keyboards I kinda agree with you - there's no reason for them to be wireless since they're pretty much static anyway, and removing the wire is just a security hole.... but mice? Who wants a wire on a mouse... Lag isn't an issue on propper wireless mice, since the connections on logitech mice are as fast as USB2 wired mice - and the batterys last about 2 weeks off a single charge, which isnt an issue anyway if you drop it in its charging dock every night, or every fortnight.

Wireless mouse yes, wireless keyboard no. Logitech G7 or MX Revolution, combined with an EluminX keyboard. Perfect combination imho.

I have a better idea.

Get a Microsoft Internet Keyboard and Microsoft Wheel Mouse Optical.

You won't spend more than $35 on both and they're excellent products.
QFT, and I think $35 may just be a bit more than necessary.

Razorhead is more for left-handed people.

I like my G5 Logitech mouse (Same as G7, but not wireless.. Better response time that way). Insane response time.

The Microsoft Digital Media Pro is an awesome keyboard for me, though the
G15 keyboard always looked pretty cool

Why do you guys need all of these expensive mice with sixteen buttons and keyboards with LCD displays and a million buttons? None of this stuff is actually required or even all that useful, and I'd rather spent a lot less on a keyboard and a lot more on something that really matters. So long as it's comfortable, durable and functional (CDF), I'm happy.
I agree strongly on the keyboard (I have a simple Logitech keyboard with laptop-style keys. I think it actually makes typing quicker and it didn't cost all that much), but I do think it's important to have a high response, decent mouse. Whilst I rarely use the extra buttons on my MX510, when it comes to aiming at things in games, having a decent mouse is a godsend.

I have the mx510, mx518, mx1000 and razer copperhead. From which the Copperhead is most definately my favourite. My second choice would be the mx510, simple, elegant and works perfectly. I don't like mx518 much for the software and the mx1000 is waaay too heavy and it's for people with small hands (unlike me).

I recently got the copperhead and I'm pissed that I didn't buy it earlier. It has a entirely different grip, which is less ergonomical than the MX mice but it allows for much better accuracy control at high mousespeeds. The precision is really well too. If you play with high mousespeeds you won't notice the jerkiness of the movement unlike with mx mice. But if you're getting this mouse you also want a good mousepad with it. The razer eXactmat is really good. It has two sides for personal preference.

About the keyboard, if you like the looks of backlit keys, extra macrokeys (they work really well), LCD screen for pc stats (cpu and ram usage) and a switch to lock the windows key, go for the G15. If you don't really care, any keyboard will do.
