I'm pretty much derailing the thread about the next Bond movie with the help of TDE and MrMan. So I figure why not start a thread entirely devoted to the students' favourite.
Although now I can't think of anything to say. Exceot for the fact that it's awesome.
Actually, I'd really like to hear some Australians' views on it?

Even though Karl has had a string of mid-life crisis and broke up the bedrock of all that is good and true (ie: the Kennedys' marriage) I still love 'im. Silver fox that he is.

Harold and Lou are a great duo - I keep expecting one of them to say "That's another fine mess you got us into!"

The thing about Boyd, mentioned in the other thread. I read that too, but I thought it was supposed to have happened by now. I think where I read it the info wasn't very reliable. Since it mentioned nothing about him getting back with Sky (grrrr) stupid little blonde child lol

So did he kill Gus then? Or was it Izzy?

I never watch that show.
Its just a really lame soap that British people seem to like for some reason :p

Ever seen our soaps? Compare the depressing Eastenders to Neighbours, you can see why we prefer something a little more cheerful :)

Besides, more eye candy in neighbours, what we got in Eastenders? Shane Richie, that lass with too much makeup on, Fat Mo or whatever she's called, and Ian Beale.... nuff said :p

Though Corrie is great, lots of people get killed in that, its so realistic heh

Y'know Sir Ian McKellan is joining Corrie - how weird is that!?
And yeah, Eastenders is very depressing - which I quite like actually! Although I haven't watched it in years.
And Big Fat Bitch Mo is the sister of <rolls drums> Gary Oldman. Clearly, the acting gene doesn't run in the family.

I dunno what they're doing with the arson story-line... Paul Robinson seems obvious, but TOO obvious.
See, bliink! You mock this show, but it has layers of intrigue the likes of which only Angela Lansbury and Dick van Dyke have seen! (Murder, She Wrote and Diagnosis: Murder, respectively. Both atroscities of television, but in a laughable way :))

I loved how Paul came back from prison with a:
"So I evaded the police, went to Brazil and then got bored of not being in jail, so I though 'What the hell!'"
And everyone on Ramsey Street listend intently but not as if it were the MOST ridiculous thing they'd ever heard. Gotta love it!

<Raises hand> I'm a student - I have nothing better to do atmid-day. It's far too early to get drunk, I've only just woken up. :upstare:

You could wank all day?

Porn is better than soaps!

You clearly haven't watched Neighbours :naughty:
There is a big difference between:

"ZOMG how can she get IN that position!! :naughty: "

and

"ZOMG I could almost see her nipples through that white shirt!!!!!"

(at least thats the difference between American soaps + porn ;))

Besides, who wants to sit through all that mushy shit just to see some action, huh?

Yeah but there's a porn saturation point - you simply canna handle any more. Cap'n. It gets dull.
For about 20 mins.
Neighbours doesn't get dull. Ever. :p

Neighbours is so important to me as a student i can't sleep through it, my body clock wakes me up at 1.30 every day so i have time to sit up and turn on the tv...i never miss it! I do miss lectures tho...

The only thing stopping me from getting mad at the lazy get up in the afternoon and miss lectures and breeze through life without doing any work attitude of students, is knowing you wont get the educations needed to get the jobs to pay off the thousands in student loans you've pissed away on booze and spend the best part of your adult lives trying to pay it back on burger king wages.

Ahh poetic justice :)

How old are you TDE? Aren't you in college or summat? Are you going to uni?
And to be honest, I reckon you're just jealous :D

You guys are forgetting the other part of a staple TV diet for a Student, Trisha! I love watching that show and laughing at all the stupid chavs. It's almost too embarrassing to watch sometimes, but I persevere.

Though I'll watch Neighbors if it's on, I don't purposefully look for it.

Well you could be right, and i would agree with you, BUT i did just pass my first semester with a B without hardly going to anything. To be honest when you're studying games design, and you've already done a HND in computing, you built your own PC and your only exam is a multiple choice one on the history of computer games, the first year doesn't teach you dick all you don't already know...

Ahh, student justice :)

I'm 27 and I worked and earnt enough money so I could take time off like I'm doing and do what I like when I like, without feeling guilty about it or sponging off the government - So how I could be jealous of a student is quite beyond me :)

Be proud that you past your exams without learning anything. That'll get you far in the real world :)

Ahh, grownup pwns student ;)

Lol, i'll learn, just not yet :) Drinking takes up too much time at the mo

And the Neighbors fans ignite into battle!

You guys are acting like this show is crack. It's crazy. You crackwhores.

Actually, you all sound like housewives. ;)

It's the weekend, no neighbours episodes, nothing new to talk about

We could talk about the new intro credits for it, with sky in a white bikini though? :D

Haha, so the backbone of all conversation relies on Neighbors? Hahahaha thats awesome. And when there is nothing to talk about, you bitch at each other. :p

Sounds like desperate housewives to meh!

...o shit smallvilles on g2g

The new intro is so cheesy its unbelievable, and they also chose to show it for the first time on the episode where you weren't sure if stuart was gonna make it out the flaming pub alive...you knew if he was in the new intro he wasn't gonna die, but then i guess they had to reason to kill him anyway. I think too much about neighbours...

hehehe this is a funny thread...

even if you are a fan, awesome is just.....way too strong of a word for this. As an Australian i can honestly say "Neighbors" is the bane of weeknight entertainment on australian tv...

Trisha's amazing. They purposefully scrape the dregs of society into a studio to shout at each other like caged apes for our entertainment. They appear to have a specific quota of guests with missing teeth per episode, which is nice.

It IS crack. I think it eminates from the TV in some perverse way.

<Applauds Sky's bikini> I must say, I'm a big fan of that :)
By the way - sorry for underestmiating your age by a hefty margin. It's just that sometimes the non-university-educated sound so crass ;)

Seriously, I was taking the piss, just to clarify! <Blows kisses at TDE's intellectual, intelligent, fabulous self> :naughty:
