You never know, maybe they want to keep it quite about the preload, for a couple more days, so they can suprise us with the preload and say it has gone gold, hey you never know, remeber how quickly they annouced doom 3 with out any notice, all we knew it was close, maybe the will do a double wammer by downloading the preload and say gold to increase the excitment, but thats just an idea. :bounce: :rolling:

Finishing games is just not in Valves nature. I don't see it happening.

I doubt it will go gold until the CS:S beta ends because its shipping with hl2, therefore CS:S will HAVE to be ready before the game can go gold. People are forgetting this......... btw, does anybody know when the beta ends or i'm guessing they probably havn't set a date just once they get the majority of bugs worked out?

And you're forgetting that steam will automatically update CS:S once you install it.

I don't care about CS:S, in my own little fantasy world this guy's right.

what pple also quickly forget is how CS:Source beta's success is tied into HL2 progressing to a gold announcement.. i mean both games use the source engine.. and as long as CS:Source has bugs, we won't be seeing anything related to HL2 progress.. simple as that.

Some how I don't think Valve wants to have a update for a game they just released. I say it goes gold after the beta testing and then we get the preload.

TOO LATE, IT'S SMASHING TIME!!!1 nice try however.

I do play css and well it came on steam quickly, see like doom 3 they didn't know they were going to annouce it going gold till like 15 minute prior to they did it, we know that half life 2 is close to being gold, and will yes the beta has to end before it will go gold or upon it will go gold, and well steam just has to hit a switch and its off for the beta, it not something that would take a week or two to do ya know. This is very possible that it could happen, and well you never know this could be how gabe and valve repairs our madness toward them for dissappoint us for the longest time, FINGERS CROSSED

I've been thinking the exact same thing. I keep getting my hopes up that Valve knows what they're doing. I just can't comprehend how a company who admittedly reads the forums can sit here and not even acknowledge all the grudges that people have against them.

I keep doing this too. I keep believing that Valve has some surprise up their sleeve and that if I'm just patient, I'll be rewarded.

It's almost like an abusive relationship. Despite all the evidence to the contrary, I just won't leave leave Valve because they love me and I know they'll stop...you just don't understand them like I do!

hehe, Valve i wana divorce ehehe :imu:

If Valve does what you said it would I'd hate them. They are delaying Half Life 2 so they can begin working on Team Fortress 2... ^.^

I'm going to agree with rochet. I have a feeling that it's going to go gold *very* soon. The very fact that Valve have yet to say anything about the delayed preload (they said sorry the last time, and within a few hours) says a lot to me. There hasn't been a peep from them in over 24 hours concearning the delayed preload, so I reckon they are about to announce something big... something gold.

Of course, I could just be talking out of my arse. Who knows, we'll just have to wait and see.

Dude you get what im say, yea the last time they said, hey we are going to delay the preload, valve is not shy of annoucing delays, HEH WE ALL KNOW THAT :frown: , now that valve did not say anything about the preload that never came on monday, I have a feeling that something big is going to happening, not talking about another delay. :bounce:

I don't know if it will be the gold anouncement (seems it is yet to go for verification) but I think that before September comes (6 days around) they will have shipped the game to Vivendi..
