Looks too over-the-top, but seems like a movie I can watch with my friends.

Stargate was decent enough.

No it really wasn't. Tv series that had nothing to do with emmerich was okay but the movie? no

The only consistently good thing about the Stargate series was the characters and their interaction. That was well written and often funny. The majority of the episodes were fairly meh with a few scattered gems.
