New alien discovered?

Although not an alien, there was mention made of Alyx's robotic dog in some of the magazine previews (apparenly she's quite 'handy'). I wonder if this character will be one of your allies? Perhaps it's just there to showcase HL2's interactivity - maybe you can play fetch with it.

It looks like a escaped human mutant. I also like the long arms.. very nice.

I think it's a nice idea too. They are probably not xen-aliens. I think they are friends witht the combine, or just mutated humans fighting everything...
