The ATI X1950XTX is a faster card priced at $449.
ATI X1900XT 256MB is the same X1900XT 512MB but with half the memory and a lower price ($279). That is less than the X1900GT MSRP ($299). :D
Boring launch except for that price^
FiringSquad Review

FYI they won't ship until sometime in September (forgot the date).

Shit, I thought this thread would be about the dx10 cards. :frown:

hmm what about the nvidia 7950gx? Is there benchmarks of that vs a x1950xtx? I know the 7950 goes for like 600 usd I think.

Not yet. =p
Nvidia DX10 is set for sept/oct and ATI DX10 is closer to christmas if that info is still correct.

Yeah just wait for the DX10 cards which will blow the current gen out of the water. It would be like buying a 6800 GT last summer only to see 7800 come out, and wheres 6800 now? Already can't keep up. Same thing happened with the X800XL I got early last summer. It just couldn't hold up 6 months later to new games that came out like FEAR and Oblivion. Why do you think all the DX9 cards are so cheap anyway? You can get a 7950 GX2 for under 500 bucks for gods sake. Bottom line, just wait.

Yeah cause 500$ video cards are "cheap".

A different review said the X1950XTX will be $399. :O
They really are trying to inspire sales.

So close to DX10 too, I'm much more resilient and patient than that.

Aren't Dx10 cards housed externally?
It's only rumored that ATI's card will require an external cooling system and thus being completely placed outside of the computer. I'm doubting it though.

Will these cards be PCI-E, or will they own us with some new interface doohickey? (DX10 cards, that is)

PCI-Express is here for a lot longer. No new interface that I am aware of.

Pci Express just came, it will last for at least 5 years and probably a LOT longer. AGP lasted what? a pretty long time.

I saw a picture of one. Can't remember if it was a mockup and I'm too lazy to search the net but there was definitely a picture.

Yes I seen that to.
It is a picture that was created off the rumor. It is not a picture of ATI's actual card.
