Plenty of new instruments flyin around these days!

I'm a guitar player and I figured I'd try my hand at a bass. But rather than start at some random no name bass I just went for the Schecter Custom 4 (Diamond Series no less).

It's pretty fun but it can't replace guitar!

Besides those gashes on the body there, this thing is perfect. I don't really care about those gashes as I don't play live or anything, though. Payed $250 - An amazing deal. With a hard case.

Holy damn. I was gonna criticize you for getting all elaborate when you just wanted to "try your hand" but with a deal like that I'd slap you for not playing bass.

Schecters are brilliant guitars, but the look of them always put me off from owning one.

Anyways, I hope you picked up a bass amp, or at least have a nice solid-state amp to play it through, pretty easy to blow out a normal amp with a bass.

I got a Marshall MG 30 watt that I can play it through.. I never go to loud though because I get scared lol.

The bassist of my band's rival band has that bass...he named it Stephanie.

Bass is awesome as shit, but I never found it interesting as a solo instrument, well, except from Cliff Burton.

Times have changed since I was a kid though. Get a drum machine going and you're set.

i love the bass, such a funky instrument

yeah throw an 808 on that bitch

Drum machines are stupid.. If you seen some of the local bands that use them you'd shoot yourself. Completely put me off them forever. Can't beat a human drummer.

Nice, Dog!

I'm thinking of buying the cheapest bass (and amplifier) they have in the near future, just to try it out. Will probably cost about $120 all in all.

Youtube Les Claypool.

Also listen to some Rush and listen to just the bass, then you'll see it's not just easy generic crap coming out of it. It can be just as awesome as guitar, but I like the higher tones of guitar more then the low sounds of bass, although they are still both cool.
