Not all promo screenshots are visually stunning, need I remind you of the last two HL2 pics we had?

But BF2 is a long way away, compare to the early HL2 shots

My point is that after seeing this (not at maximum settings):

BF2 doesnt look impressive at all. Vehicles look better, and that's about it. Will I be surprised in the future? Probably. But THESE images arent good at all. And lets not mention the JO map is maybe 200kb large, whereas BF maps are 30mb, lol
Maybe BF 2 is changing that, and that's why its unimpressive, heh.

I don't know, it looks ok but nothing truly amazing. Look at the water, it isn't even reflective; just the same water texture method used in the previous 2 titles. I was so disappointed in vietnam that I might not even buy this; I bought vietnam the day it came out and played it maybe 5 times since.

If you look at those screenshot it doesn't really look like they added much of anything. The levels are still extremely plain and the terrain looks as if it still uses the same engine as before. Models are much nicer but I'm not going to dish out $50 for better looking models.

And for anyone looking at the shots too critically...go watch the videos, especially the demonstration ones. They're more on par with what the game really looks like than a few screenshots.
