New C&C Game

Not really. The SAGE engine was quite good at rendering large spaces, as well as interiors, not to mention...

Not to mention...

That's how Renegade SHOULD have been.

This isn't about rendering. I meant in terms of animation and AI. You could have made it a linear shooter I suppose, with set-pieces.

Whats the tag line?

"Despite what you were all told in Firestorm, the world still isn't dead!"?

Yeah, seriously. What ever happened to "hay guise, we're ****ed lol"? Though I guess the Tacitus did help :|

Indeed. EA bought them in 1998 (iirc), moved them from Las Vegas to LA in 2001 then finally dissolved them in 2003, forming EALA from the remains of Westwood.

Some of the old guard are still at EALA, but many left and formed Petroglyph (responsible for Star Wars: Empire At War & Forces of Corruption [which, surprisingly had rubbish land combat, but utterly awesome space warfare] and are now working on Universe at War: Earth Assault)

Dear god, you just realized this? Do you not read any CnC news at all? I mean... damn, man.

That's like thinking that Everquest is still cool.

No, I was out of touch with the gaming industry for quite a few years. And no, I never read up on Westwood. I didn't need to, because I still believed they were churning out games for me.

Do you think they would have made the shit that is RA2 willingly?

Tacitus.

How do you think the next part of C&C was to be explained, when Westwood was still operational?

I won't be holding my breath. Renegade SP was so painfully average and it just shat on the storyline, and that was made by Westwood! I can't imagine how bad EA are going to make this.

It was so ridiculously cheesy there's no way it could've been made by anyone else.

Especially since it fits the grim aesthetics of Red Alert and Tiberian Dawn perfectly.

I laugh to this day when I recall Gradenko reporting on the gassing of civilians in Poland.

The hell! RA2 was silly. Didn't fit either of those games at all.

RA2 was fun, dude. Don't you like b-movies? Giant Russian squids, man! Campy and awesome. Perhaps not a dark game, but eh.

First official screen from Tiberium.

No Renegade-esque C&C mode in multiplayer. Bum.

Hmm, so it's set between Kane's Wrath and Tiberium Wars then. Looks like Kane's Wrath goes into the future at one point.

Too bad about the lack of C&C mode. I suppose it shouldn't be that hard to mod in.

Wait, I'm lost.

Does this take place between TS and TW (Kanes Wrath era), or after TW?

Was hoping for one DURING TS, but :|

I think part of Kane's Wrath is pre-TW and part is post-TW.

I believe it bridges Tiberium Wars and Kane's Wrath, so yeah, after Tiberium Wars. Kane's Wrath seems to start after TS and ends after TW.

If I don't get to use the jump jet, I'm going to be very :<

I'm thinking Zone Trooper superjump myself.

For the normal soldier. It'd be lame if we didn't get at least one jetpack level.

Eh, not make it all about the jet pack; instead let us choose between taking the titan, or the wolverine, or the jetpack, etc.

Be damn cool if they made a base assault involve multiple characters; say you sneak into a base and C4 the SAM sites, or take out the defense turrets, your choice. That way you could switch characters to become a jumpjet trooper which then takes out the cannons as you escape the alerted Nod base, allowing the Titans to trample in, or be the Titan raiders which obliterate antiair. Sure, a bit of a limited implementation that, but you get the idea.
