New Crysis reference comparison images

ya but how can you not be impressed with the graphics???? they are beautiful, and you cant really say if its impressive or not in gameplay and story because there hasnt been much released on that.

From the videos I've seen, it looks like a run of the mill shooter, with orgasmic graphics.

That's all, I still remain unimpressed.

Graphics are nice and all but I lose interest in them after like 10 minutes.

The story as they've said involves the US and North Korea or somebody going to a set of islands where something has crashed (obviously the aliens) and is messing with the climates (which is why there's icy areas in the game). Conflict arises with NK so there is some soldier combat. Of course they say there will be twists and turns along the way and the true mystery will be unveiled blah blah blah...but what developer doesn't say that about their game?

Gameplay changes we've seen that differ from Far Cry include new customizable weapons, supposedly smarter AI (which they haven't shown), and some reconfigurable suit that can change modes for the current purpose (if you need to be strong or fast at certain times you can do so). Oh yeah, and you can shoot down trees with magic bullets that will take them down in 1-3 shots. Sounds like Far Cry 1.5 to me so far.

The game looks like it could be alright. I was "wowed" by Far Cry's massive environments and interesting gameplay, but so far it doesn't make me want a sequel (or any of the derivatives we've seen released on various consoles).

Cant wait to play this masterpiece.

But what do you think of the graphics? :p
After all that is what the thread is about. Funny thing is they were not even posted on the Crysis page but for the engine and you guys are talking about how bad the story is going to be. lol
I'm in a 'wait and see' mode for the game but the graphics couldn't be better.

Asus wins.
Graphics look bloody awesome, you can't deny that.
None of us have tried any of the gameplay yet, and we know little about the story. It could turn out to be a great shooter.

lol umm yea exactly my point i was saying earlier

3D photo-realism + average shooter = yawn. Again.

Vector lines + great gameplay, replayability, radiation sickness = Win.

I'm interested to see it playing in all it's glory being a cg artist n' all, but I know what i'd rather play.

Hmm, those screen shots look good BUT, they are very small, both the real life shot, and the in game shot are pretty tiny, making it hard to see small details, the kind we notice when we are actually playing. So it's hard to say whether its really as good as it appears in those small shots.
