You had to apply about a month ago, so you're too late now. There will be an open beta in august though iirc.
 
I am downloading the beta now @ about 75 kb/s. That's way to slow if you ask me. Would there be any way of speeding it up?

yup,the multiplayer looks pritty fun,lots of stuff going on....i wonder how my fps will take it :(
