new DOOM III req's HOLY FNARK!

At least it appears to be unfounded. I'm planning on upgrading anyway but if that had been the minimum spec I'd have begun to cry.

Why do mods apologise anyway? If I were you people I'd be wading in with a cattle prod with no intention of repenting.

Wait, I am one of you people. No wonder a particular forum of my aquaintance is emptying...

Anyway, I understand that Doom III is an incredibly systems intensive game but it's good to know that it won't be that intensive. I'm still bitter regarding unoptomised games or games that demand specific features from hardware in order to even run (*cough* bloody shading pixels of doom *cough*). Plus, as NVidia is the next Doom's announced flagship card manufacturer (suprise surprise) I'd be willing to bet that even Ti's would produce decent results.

Because our mods rule....

No matter what some different sites members and administrators love saying....

DAM
if that are the minimun, what will be the recomended?

videocard: 390 MB,avaible whit Directx 18
pentiun 7 or 6.9 ghz
980MB RAM

THAT WILL BE THE RECOMENDED!!!!!!

I love Carmack and I hate him. He makes the best engines that current PC hardware can possibly muster but the majority of people with PC's don't have bottomless walets.

If those are the inimum syst. specs. Then how the hell will it possibly run well on the Xbox? I just don't get it. I understand they can optimize it for consoles but the Xbox only has a 64 MB graphics card...give me a break. I hate technology....and I love it

X-box runs at an inane low resolution, that's why. And I wouldn't scoff at those specs, even if they're not official - they're about where I would guess the reccommended specs to be.

I was under the impression that X-Box support progressive scan....

Yeah, the XBox can do progressive scan... but very few games do anything more than the standard 480p. Some of the games even lock the framerate at 30fps although the display is going at 60Hz. The fillrate just gets too high at 720p and 1080i for the XBox to display the same level of detail and maintain a decent framerate at those resolutions.
