I did. All I notice is an increase in texture quality.

Low polygon count is still apparent.

Doom 3. You either love it or you hate it. My emotion is the latter. I won't be buying this.

I know what DOOM 3 is missing.

Friendly marines. They would have made the game so much better. (And friendly AI does make various sections better I've tried it.) But ID could have introduced it and done some good stuff with it. Like sanity in the marines for example.
