New DS detailed

Not semantics. Playing in 3D like this intends will not, and can not affect gameplay. Also, its not trying something new. 3D has existed for 40+ years.

The one thing ill say about Nintendo is they dont release gimmicky add ons anymore, its always built in which means more likely developers will try to use it

Sounds interesting but I certainly won't be getting it at launch.

Yeah, I posted the website earlier. I saw 6-2010, but... (I didn't know E3 would be so soon). I saw E3 on the website as well. (it was almost entirely Japanese)

I think Nintendo did a great job of keeping this a secret, for what is probably two years. The announcement only 3 months before it would be playable - I think it's obvious - this was to keep Sony from copying their idea again, like with the 6 axis motion controller.

I think the "word" can decide for itself whether or not it wants this.

"Jumping on the bandwagon," ie - a new technology proves successful and is therefore replicated. ****ING GIMMICKY BULLSHIT WHERE DID THIS KIND OF THINKING EVER GET US.

Plz less nerdrage at me.

Sorry if my opinion is different than yours.

We'll see who's right if this even takes off largely, and how long it lasts.

Hey guys remember the DSi?
how about the iPad?
Project Natal?
PSP Go?

Neither do I.

Oh great, another DS I won't be getting.

The Nintendo 3DS will succeeded the Nintendo DS series and will have backward compatibility for Nintendo DS and DSi games. It is important to stress that the Nintendo 3DS is a new hardware series.

Bullshit.

It looks the same as a DS. For the most part, it controls like a DS. It is a DS with 3D capabilities.

The speculation is that they plan to improve upon it when prices on the technology come down, similar to the Wii Motion Plus (or whatever it's called)

Warbie [or someone] said it has an analog stick, and has Gamecube quality graphics power (for example Resident Evil 4 had pretty nice graphics to be on a handheld).

But, I don't know if that's 'adjusted', meaning: is the graphics output to be as good as the Gamecube or is the processing power equivalent to the Gamecube - if thats the case, after rendering the 3D stuff, it won't look as good. However, it is a smaller screen, so it probably has a smaller resolution, so that would be easier to render. Anyway..> BLERG

Probably more like DS equaling N64, as in Mario 64 DS, the system wasnt as powerful but it looked better due to smaller display and the fact that the models werent so atrociously triangley and looked nice
