new enemies in EP3

Oooh... re-skinning the Combine assassin as an Aperture military 'droid WOULD be totally awesome. Borealis' automated defenses come on-line...

Look at those cute little buggers.. And at crotch level too! Watch out!

What're they going to do... flap at you...?

I believe there could be arctic-based xen wildlife which we haven't encountered... as we know, there must be a large source of liquid on xen which we didn't come across from the presence of the ichthyosaur and leeches. Similarly, there could be a very cold part of Xen.

But if you remember from Half-Life, in an environment too cold for humans (you lost health moving around in it), there were vortigaunts, headcrabs and zombies hanging around. So I wouldn't be too hesitant to think that we won't see xenian wildlife around. Might even have snow on them

Off-topic: What I'm really looking for in Episode Three is a blizzard. With realistic looking snow whirling around your head.

This is exactly what i was thinkin, elite overwatch soilders with white trench coats on so all you can see is that red eye moving.

One of these appearing in middle of the artic as you walk towards the Borealis, that would be erotic

or maybe

Taking down the copter

I emailed valve when hl2 came out and they said they would put them ^ within the 3 episodes. Should I believe them now?

That would be teh sex. I think I'd orgasm if they do... with the utmost seriousness.

Erotic is not a word I would use, but one I'd fully endorse other people to use. You couldn't describe it any better.

Yes! We cannot doubt our Gods!

That beta Elite forgot to shave.

But I'd like the crab synth, accuracy of a gunship, firepower of a chopper, damage of the dropship turret.

Out of all the ones mentioned, by bet is on the return of the hydra, which will take a hell of a lot of programming, seeing its just a tentacle and would difficult to shoot and is a one hit, one kill...if it hits you, your out. Which could be frustrating for....'the playtesters'

The programming and animation is done, you know. It's just a matter of fun now.

I doubt the Hyrdra's coming back. It was cut for a reason. And highly unlikely it will be here in Episode Three.

It might be in the next full game, however, say a Half-Life 3?

Okay, i got the perfect enemy, it's a female semi-penguin,semi-polar-bear, zombie-cyborg

It's great, isn't it?

No, after all think that we would fight against Cyborgs too, because Aperture improved cyborgs and also built rocket- or plasmaturrets.
Do you remember the sentry guns in Half-Life? I think GlaDOS will use some kind of them to kill us or the combine.

Another new Enemy could be a Zombie with a blue shirt
instead of a white. I still don't understand why people wearing white shirts, if everybody knows, that only guys with white shirt are able to become zombies.

Edit 1: Guys with blue shirt become burned or beaten, so remember kids, wear semi-orange, semi-grey shirts to be godlike.

P.S.
Would please someone send Gabe my Picture of the ultimate enemy, i don't have his e-mail. xD
I'm shure, we'll meet my ultimate Enemy, if somebody would mail him the pic.

Crab and mortar synths presumably. We know they exist for definate.
Also, cremators? After all, the head of one was in Eli's lab, so they proboaly exist.

They do exist somewhere. Apparently the acid was too hard to do or something...

No doubt I'm wrong, because nothing's too hard for Valve...

Don't think they'd be appropriate for an arctic climate though, unless they're in some hidden underground combine facility.

The Crab and Mortar synths will almost certainly make their appearance here unless for some gameplay reason (sigh) they fail to make the cut.

No way. Valve wouldn't introduce those at the same time the Advisors are introduced as killable enemies. Maybe in HL3?

Combine Guard and the Female Assassin - not really new, but something that looked awesome from the beta.

I reckon Chell is a Female Assasin Prototype that AS was developing. After that little accident at the end of Portal they changed parts of her

Actually, I think we're going to be seeing more of the "heavy weapons" type when we get to the Borealis.

Up until this point, Gordon and the Rebels have forced the Combine to react to them, forcing them to use more mobile troops, such as the Strider, Hunter, and Armored Car. This is also what I use as an excuse for the last part of EP2: The force we fought was highly mobile, and therefore could get there before the troops and even the airships. Remember, the airships only did stuff at the end of the battle. They were trying as fast as possible to get to the rocket; they didn't know when it would be ready. For all they knew, it could've been ready the minute they got close. Anyways, the fact is Gordon has been facing the LIGHT divisions of Combine troops; we haven't seen a single tank, just armored cars; we haven't seen any "jet" types, only helicopters; we haven't seen any emplaced defenses except for the crude autogun, and there haven't been any real mechanized forces, just what we call "supersoldiers" (which I have a feeling are only the medium-infantry units). I know someone's going to bring up the Citadel/Nova Prospekt, and I don't really have an answer. But, I don't think the Combine was able to react fast enough to Gordon to really mobilize their forces appropriately past the light-medium level (or they didn't think they really needed to until shit started hitting the fan). The Combine just got caught off guard at Nova Prospekt, they didn't even know what hit them. Gordon hit them hard and quick where it hurt, then got out before they could quarantine him.

However, now the Combine knows what Gordon and the Rebels are aiming for. Chances are, due to their faster transport, they'll get to the Borealis first with just enough time to set up but not enough time to use the Borealis. They'll have the advantage of defense, and we'll probably be seeing a tank-type vehicle which the RPG will not work against and heavier mechanized infantry divisions which may be outfitted with more machine guns, snipers, et cetera. The Borealis is one of, if not the only hope for the Combine. They'll defend it to the man, with everyone they've got. Hell, we might even see a type of Combine skitroop or something. Who knows. What I really believe is that our dominant enemy WILL be the Combine, however. There's no way Gordon and Alyx could get to the Borealis first even if they left immediately after the Advisers got beaten away by Dog. Combine tech, aside from teleportation, is simply better and faster.

I don't want to see AS Cyborgs unless Valve puts a really good reason for it. There's no reason for Cyborgs to be on the Borealis, they should all be gone. GLaDOS should be the only original "living" thing inside the Borealis. Hell, GLaDOS might even recognize what's going on and help Gordon beat the insurmountable odds he and Alyx are going to be facing onboard.

In a few words: I think we'll be facing the less-mobile, more firepower based Combine units. There will most likely (in my opinion) be little to no aliens in Episode 3, unless Valve throws a twist in there or something.

Of course, I'm probably completely wrong, so take my analysis with a grain of salt.
