New Ep2 Screenshot (slight spoiler if real)

well, it surely brings up a question from me. where are all the combine synths and the slugs in the pods going? are they like heading to another city? like city 16 or smthing..or are they just fleeing the place?

Reallocating and regrouping to retaliate, to smash any attempts of our heroes to free the world of the Combine oppression (*poor bastards, their pathetic offensive will be met by mr. Freeman and his silent combat efficiency*)
 
I want to know why an advisor pod has such little escort? THat's like only 2 guys following the president around.

Gordon could take all of them out...the sad thing.

At least one stider, one gunship and a dozen soldiers. Seems like a decent escort to. Of course Gordon could take them out, he could take out almost anything (provided there's an infinite rocket crate nearby)

It flies around so the creatures would not be much help the thing is hard to nail
 
Such changes on characters rather piss me off.
Having wrinkly vortigaunts and then smooth vorts? Whats this?
Anyway I do hope valve has a reasonable explanation for all this.

How about the change in the placement and number of eyes that the Vorts have this can be explained more clearly
 
They didn't disappear, they just got much harder to see, the extra eyes almost become red slits. Look closely, use the zoom if you have to.
 
I like the idea of Pods being escorted around like that.

...maybe one of the pods crashed after they leave the citadel???

It's on low graphics settings and it's possibly a beta model. Alternative: The new vorts we're seeing are mych younger. That said, I prefer the old, wrinkly, grittier vorts to the one's we're seeing in the EP2 previews.

No, in HL1 vortigaunts have 6 eyes, in HL2 they only have 4.

Oh BTW, this scene isn't entirly new.

I think most the pods must have crashed landed, I reckon they were escape pods I dont think they had a destination it particular needed to just get the hell outta the citadel. The combine could be rounding them all up?
 
I rekon that the pods probably don't have an infinite source of fuel and that the Combine feel a bit safer with an armed escort.

You're organic and you need fuel. That's what food is. Striders can't walk around forever without a refuel/recharge, that defies the laws of physics even more than all the teleportation and crap that's in the game.

Maybe this is the scene in which we get the new flashlight battery, since the Vortigaunt's want to assist in anyway they can.
"The Freeman who doesn't use this battery, will suffer greatly in the road ahead"
 
On the other hand, Valve did scatter a whole lot of flares around the place, right?

"The Freeman who doesn't use this pheropod, will suffer greatly in the road ahead."
 
That vortigaunt does look better than the rest of the things in the screenshot, am i foolish or can it be DX10 ?
